Did y'all notice Bullock's 30th carry of the game? Iowa had a 2nd and 6 as they were trying to get a first down to run out the clock. Bullock got the carry and moved the pile far enough to get 7 yards and the game-clinching first down, allowing the Hawks to take a knee to end it. Impressive finish from a guy that many (including myself) were doubting.

Go Hawks!

Bullock should have struck le Heisman Pose in the endzone after his TD.
He's on his way.

Somebody said Bullock looked like Mike Saunders (not just because they chose the same number), and I would agree.

Maybe he was trying to get away from grabby hands.

Given how many times in the past few years that we simply needed a first down to put a game away and couldn't do it, I applauded his efforts.

If anything I wish they coulda lightened his work load some. 30 carries to Garmons what 4 carries? Surprised me alittle. Woulda liked to see Bullock get closer to 25 and Garmon closer to ten touches or so. Bullock looked absolutly solid better than advertised. If Arob at any point in his career was on team I'd say Bullock would be playing over him. He's got just alittle more of everything other than maybe pass blocking over him. Looks like we'll be hitching our wagon to Bullock for sure this yr.

Garmon was way too tentative. He was a deer in headlights. Hopefully he shakes off the first game jitters and is able to display his lighting speed and dynamic running ability we all keep hearing about.

Garmon also is built like a true freshman rb. He is not a between the tackles kind of guy right now. Give him a screen pass or swing pass to give him the ball in space.

Eddie P thought Bullock reminds him of a young Albert Young
Given Eddie P's other hyperbole after the game, I'd have been surprised if he didn't say Bullock reminded him of a young Walter Payton.

This is pretty good. I do think the NIU D was a bit unappreciated coming into the game. They were definitely good at pursuing the ball. But the hyperbole was strong.

ONE game does NOT make a season... ISU is going to be a LOT harder to run on...

I don't think so. They only gained 139 yard rushing against NIU. They gained 158 vs ISU last year. I would bet they get about 150 yards on the ground this Saturday, and 200+ through the air.

Iowa gained more than 139 rushing yards against NIU. The running backs accounted for 166 yards rushing. The sacks took a lot away from the rushing total.
