What players are not capable besides Basabe, Woodbury, and Olaseni? When McCabe or Uthoff go in for Basabe that gives Iowa 4 players that can hit the 3 point shot.

Take out White and Clemmons. They attempt less than 1 3 point shot a game.

I am sure Bo is telling his players they made a mistake defensively and should have made him shoot the 3.

I think both will go down.....especially away from Carver against the boys boys. I'm most concerned about opponent 3 point percentage as I don't think we are a good half court defensive team because we are slow to close out on the perimeter and soft in the middle on help defense.

This means we pretty are bad on D all the way around. I don't buy it.
Iowa hasn't shot many threes in conf. play period. Don't know if you can judge quite yet.

I don't take a lot of stock into our current stats because of the slew of BAD teams we played in the pre-season. The only thing the stats tell me is that we have made improvement since the start of Fran being here. We have beat BAD, make that HORRID teams like we should.

However, the difference between how good Iowa is and the current outstanding stats is likely skewed. We are not as good as the stats look. It will all balance out as we continue to play better competition.

Are you not getting tired of this old line? Our loses are against teams that are, I think, 41-1. All of our loses are against top 10 teams; we are ranked 20th in the country, for heaven's sake! I have no doubt that Iowa is a very good basketball team playing in the best conference in the country. We will finish in the top four and go on to the NCAA.

Why isnt Josh getting any shots ? I would think they would be wanting to put some threes up.

When he comes off screens he doesn't catch the ball ready to shoot. Allot of times he looks like he's going to be open but by the time he squares up the guy is in his face.

We do not have any players who are clutch shooters. This is the difference. Our kids are not making clutch shots against quality opponents. I believe they feel Fran's stress and tighten up a little bit.

If Jok can get 3's off then Josh should be able to. He could've gotten a couple off vs. Wisky but didn't shoot.

I think the same goes for many teams. Obviously Iowa has played a lot of really horrible teams and that helps the stat line.

Thats why the only really meaningful statistics are in conference play. And right now Iowa doesn't have a lot of data to go off of. But so far 3pt shooting in conference play hasn't been good.

Yep, big difference shooting with the pressure on in big games than up 30 vs. a cupcake. As I mentioned, our 3 pt shooting vs. good teams = not good so far. Everyone on this board agreed we needed to hit 3s this year to win more games...hoping we see it. So far its iffy.
