Here's the deal. When we saw what happened with the schedule we should have all just realized what was coming.
No way a team that has not played for two weeks is going to be able to beat a team in rhythm like Wisky. Then, after that game, they go on the road and face a team on the bubble, then they stay on the road and play a team on a day's rest.
Anyone who didn't see those three losses, just doesn't see clearly. That Indy switch was bad in not only taking the team even more out of rhythm, but also creating such a killer stretch.
Where I think Fran blew it was he should have treated the week like training camp and got guys like Jok and Clemmons some meaningful minutes so he had something to work with in the future instead of grinding down Marble and MG. At this point, next year looks like a disaster. A backcourt of MG who gets worn down because he needs to play at about 125% effort to be successful and JO, who is a good reserve at best, and then two guys who haven't really played all year?!
Unless Fran has a Freddie-type rabbit to pull out of his hat, it will be hard to see the Hawks dancing next year without some significant development from Clemmons and Jok. Hard to develop riding pine.
