Wasn't this past week depressing enough? Now we have to watch Clones go for Elite 8 and then you put this possible 22-23 lineup on!! EnoughStarters:
G - Toussaint
G - Perkins
F - Sandfort (Most Improved)
F - Murray
F - McCaffery
Bench:
G - Ulis/Bowen
G - Dix
C - Mulvey/Ogundele
Too young to predict. I would list two upsides. Physical growthI realize he's still very green, but in no way, shape, or form and I ready for Mulvey to sniff the rotation, let alone see decent minutes. I'm not giving up on the guy, but from what I've seen he's tall...and that's about it. Hope I'm wrong and would love to see him develop, but I just don't see it happening next season.
Seems like there's always an obvious one and then one that nobody saw coming happen... Like if JT wanted to go closer to home and play more by dropping down level that'd make sense. Or say Josh O if he was homesick something like that. It seems more likely 1 or 2 guys will leave rather then everyone being back that could be. (Minus Keegan obviuosly)until the transfer dust settles, it would be naive to believe that our roster is going to be intact. It's still fun to think about, but I imagine Iowa will lose at least 1 if not more of the guys we have.
I would go with Perkins as most improved. But Sandfort could definitely make a quantum leap next year.Starters:

Why dont we revisit this in about October when we know who is on the team.

I don't think we lose anyone to transfer. The variables are Flip, Connor and Kris. This unit seemed tight and you lose two starters with big minutes. It will open up opportunities. Even if everyone comes back, I would strongly consider looking for a transfer forward.
It's crazy that we have 2 pgs that can't shoot outside 15 feet really... If this Bowen kid coming in can it'll be tough to keep him off the floor. He seems to be legit. He's the all around pg with size athleticism and shooting range that he's been looking for. Who can also play make and setup others. So we'll it'll be interesting how that position gets sorted out next yreehhh, Uhlis/Toussaint...I'm not 100% convinced that one of those guys leaves.
Actually, Fran has a proud history of PGs who can't shoot. JBO is the exception, of course. It's crazy that we have 2 pgs that can't shoot outside 15 feet really... JBo has been his PG just about half his tenure But yeah Mike G wasn't much of a shooter either. Having an all around PG has been Frans unicorn. He's been trying to get one all this time and Bowen is probably the closest thing to it he's gotten yet. If he lives up to the hype anyway time will tell.Actually, Fran has a proud history of PGs who can't shoot. JBO is the exception, of course.
I agree.. the starters r alright, but the bench is thin and a little bit of a jokeWhy dont we revisit this in about October when we know who is on the team.
Yeah he did do well for part of that one season he was thrust into doing that. I think we caught teams off guard with that a little. It wasn't ideal for Marble to do that I don't think but he did it for the team. He was definitely more of a 2 or 3.Marble was a stud point playing slightly out of position, but he was as close to a unicorn PG as Fran has had. Trouble is the team around him when he was the point wasn't very good.
