If the Hawks won the Outback Bowl, they will likely finish the season ranked. It’s always better to finished ranked than unranked.

I guess it comes down to what “meaningful” means to each fan. I would think that most fans want to wear their Iowa garb out in public as a statement of being associated with a winner.
“Hey your the team that with the fans and players turn and wave to the children in the hospital.” It’s a great thing but has NOTHING to do with on the field performance. Iowa in the world of top ten football programs is totally irrelevant. Seriously 9-4 or 8-5 who gives a rats ass but Iowa fans???
If it wasn’t an SEC team we are playing I wouldn’t give an EFF about the game. Totally meaningless in college football relevance. With out looking tell me who won the last three meetings in this bowl game?
The only ray of hope would be if Iowa wins B1G and then builds on it going into next season and kicks Azz next season.
I hate the SEC and their whore media station ESPN.
I think one aspect is most important, does this game mean that much for MSU? How motivated will they be? What does a win over Iowa mean to their season, or are their talented players going to avoid getting hurt? Enjoy the vacation?I've come to accept that bowl games are meaningless. Iowa pissed the middle part of the season down their legs. This game won't redeem them should they win. It also makes little difference if they lose.
In my heart, I've adopted the Washed Up Walk Ons mantra. "Hawks by a friggin' Million."
But my head says, Iowa struggled to rush the ball much of the season. MSU has a top notch defense. They will force us to throw, and their d-line will eat Stanley alive. I've got a very bad feeling about this one. Terrible match up for Iowa. As usual in bowl games.
Therefore, I say...HAWKS BY A FRIGGIN MILLION!!!
But not really. MSU 24 Hawks 6
