2017 Spring Game Thread

Ok. What is the format tonight? Is it an actual game or just a practice? I read there will be 4 quarters with 15 minutes running clock. Sounds like a game but not sure if they are keeping a score like a game. I know there will be no running back of kicks or punts.

I wonder if the reason the BTN didn't cover Iowa's spring game the last couple years is because it was just an organized practice and not good for TV. Is this the reason Iowa's could be having a game, to appease the network?

If a game, does anybody know how the teams will be split up? I heard some programs have a draft. Some split up the 1, 2, 3 and 4 groups.

I guess I'm excited to watch this format tonight and see how the new QB's perform as well as newcomers Nick Easely and the WR and TE corps.

Honestly, with what we have at DE, I'm thinking our offensive tackles are going to improve at pass protection. They have alot of guys they can run at them with size, speed, etc. That bodes well for our offense taking a step forward this year.

Vise Versa as well. I think the young interior D line going up against the starting O-line is key.

I was there until the 3rd Q. It was kind of boring and frustrating because they didn't have rosters. I looked all around me and saw no one with one. It was hard to figure out who was who.

This team is shaping up to be a very good one. The defense and punting are both looking great. I really like what I saw in the young defensive linemen. Iowa will be so strong and deep up front. They also showed that they are great at the other levels. The offense is ahead of where it has been at this time in previous good seasons such as 2008 and 2015. It was mostly backups at skill positions, and it's good that they could get exposure in this situation. This team also has what it takes to be great.
