Brandon Hutton 6'5" 195 small forward from De La Salle institute of Chicago has committed to Iowa the same weekend as Juco PG Trey Dickerson.

I have to admit t hat I know almost nothing about this kid, and need to do some research. I love the sound of getting ANY kid out of Chicago. It doesn't seem to happen very often for us.

Sorry I cant link it right now. Hawkeye insider article s ays the following among other stuff: Hutton is now 6'6" 210. Transferred from chicago simeon to de la salle. They say he is a lockdown defender playing against pg, gaurd, and forwards. Some say he is the best defender in high school right now. He has a 38" vertical!!!! #wow. Wisconsin was after him hot and heavy with many others offering and showing interest.
This kid is good and plays against elite competition. His team won their league (chicago upper league?). I am down right pumped about landing a chicago kid. Fran has to feel real good about this one with 2-3 more to give in 2015.

Dickerson is coming in for the 2014 class and will have 3 year of eligibility. Hutton is a 2015 kid.

I have noticed on 247, that Boudreaux is highly favored to pick the Hawks. I really haven't seen anything warranting people picking Iowa over the last 4 weeks but Iowa is now 10/10 for Crystal Ball picks.

Hutton has been injured, so he missed most of the spring AAU season. Hence, not much news on him lately. His outside shooting seems to be his main weakness right now, so just hoping he can improve there.

Boudreaux is reportedly hoping for a Michigan offer. I think we are in there, but he seems to be waiting.

Not sure 1977...I just thought it would be nice to get a list and see who and where we're looking at....I kind of remember that as well about this kid....

Fleming will be far better than the recruiting sites are giving him credit for. I am surprised some sites haven't updated his ranking. He wasn't on the map until a couple recent camps that elite coaches were at. From then on, the offers and attention came pouring in. He had another eye-opening camp a week ago. He's not overly-athletic like Hutton but is a shooter that can also create his own shot, which I believe is what sets him apart. Is there anyone that can create their own shot on the upcoming years roster?

At least 2 of the 3 remaining scholarships will go to big men. The third is a toss up, possibly another juco guard.

I do not know how you can say he can create his own shot from the video clips we have seen . He is not very quick, and not overly athletic....and the release is very low on his shot, which could make it easy to block. I am just not seeing a game that you are describing. To create you must be able to beat guys off the dribble, and then finish at the rim or dish. He might be ok at dishing, but do not see him as a great finisher in the paint...which is why he is not rated higher.

From his earlier videos it was almost all spot shooting and dishing. Although, even early on he could take it strong to the hole. The videos from Pangos show a different player, and the scouts and writers there took notice. His speed is up (still not a burner) but he created numerous shots for himself. He doesn't shoot from above his shoulders but I wouldn't go so far as to say he has a low release. Either way, he gets his shot off quick and has developed a floater.

I was not impressed with his early year clips whatsoever, but the player from the past few months is someone completely different.

I am still interested to see how he will play at Oak Hill against top talent every game

Yes, as a HS junior, he can still improve and become a good contributor at Iowa. I agree that next season at Oak Hill will give us a real glimpse into how he measures up vs the top talent in the land. If he can be a major contributor at Oak Hill, then I will feel much better about his prospects in the Big Ten.

WT, in my opinion, these guys can create their own shot: Jok, JU and Woody (lol, I know, but I am serious. Woody has good handles for a big and he can take an opposing C off the dribble.) I believe White can, but he takes everything to the hole, so my opinion on him is up in the air on this aspect. If he ever does decide to utilite a mid-range game, I think White is right behind Jok in ability. Plus, my instinct tells me Jok is gonna be a super star. He has that "it" about him, as a basketball player.

I thought that I'd read that Fleming was in the 35 inch + vertical jump group. Am I wrong about that? I really didn't see that in his vids. I know Hutton is, but I thought Fleming was also.

It was listed that he has a 36 in vertical. Time will tell. If he does, he will probably have an injury before he comes to Iowa.
