2014 Strength of Schedule #86

Yep it was a bottom third SOS. Face it, Iowa played really bad to lose to ISU which is a make it game if they win they are 8-4. then they really stubbed their toe against Nebby and had a chance to beat Wisky. My eyeballs showed me they could/should have been 10-2 or 9-3 and all would be good at Fort Kinnick.

But that is one of my problems with KF since losing to Mich and jNW in 2005, losing games they were winning or to lesser teams. Easily 20+ losses in 10-11 seasons. Eg, the two bad losses to Minny in 2010 and 2011.

Meh.....They said last year pre season strength of the schedule was in the 80's as well, but I think we ended the year at 50ish in SOS. Not great, but not as bad as they claimed it would be going into the year. Certainly a manageable schedule, and we should put up more than 7 wins vs that schedule (last year and this year).

The schedule has been manageable since '09. The most difficult roadie has been the trips to Lincoln.

Setting up nicely for a 6-6 finish and a Foster Farms Bowl bid!!!!

This has to be the easiest 5 year stretch of schedule in Iowas history.

And thus one of, if not the most dissapointing stretches ever.

I don't know what the strength of schedule is for the coming year, but if you look at the other teams records from last year it has to be pretty easy. The Iowa hawkeyes will win 7, 8, or 9 games and then get beat in their bowl game. I can only see a couple of games that Iowa shouldn't be favored in. Ferentz and Barta will be happy and looking forward to the next year.

Sounds allot like last year at this time.

The drive to be among the best doesn't exist anymore. I think most would agree that Kirk is a good man and ran a clean program, but a tired coach=a tired program.
