2014 Iowa commits' senior year games.

Union is up 19-0 early against CPU. I don't have numbers, but I imagine Jay Scheel has had something to do with those points.

Lake Dallas 44, Pearce 37--Josh Jackson had quite the night. He had 2 runs for just 3 yards and lost a fumble, but he had 9 receptions for 210 yards and 4 TDs. Lake Dallas got the ball trailing 37-30 with 11 minutes to go, and Jackson put up 4 catches for 95 yards and 2 TDs to deliver the win for his team.

Here's this week's schedule. Game of the week is probably Paramus Catholic vs. Gilman on Sunday. Both schools are currently ranked in the top 100 in MaxPreps' rankings.

Just noticed that I have two games for South Oak Cliff this weekend. They do not play tonight, only tomorrow vs. Mansfield Summit.

One update from tonight--

Lovejoy is trailing Frisco 42-29 going into the 4th quarter. Mick Ellis is 2/3 on PATs and made a 23 yard field goal.

Jay Scheel is going to have a great game against my alma mater haha. Central Springs is terrible.

One thing that is nice for Scheel is that even though he goes to a small school, they've had a ton of elite talent there in the last few years, so their coach knows how to handle pulling stars and keeping them out of harm's way in blow-outs. That seems like something that would come natural for coaches, but it really is something that needs to be learned.

Yeah I think it's tough for a coach to stop playing to score. Even as a player it's sometimes tough to understand getting pulled when you have done everything right.

I coached high school basketball for the first time this past year, and we had a game where we had a 35 point lead less than 2 minutes into the second half. We had to pull our starters even though our best player was easily going to get a quadruple-double. One of the toughest decision of the whole season to take him out.
