Alright, let me have it. Which ones did I miss? Don't recall Woody dunkin it at UNC? I remember Mike dunkin at UNC and again last night. Don't remember Woody throwing one down since last year. Wasn't trying to rip on Woody with this post, just fun to watch Mike get out and throw it down.

Woody not dunking is the last of my concerns. This has always been a stupid reason for complaining
The thing is though, if Woody could dunk like other 7 footers, he would be twice the player he is now. It's extremely unfortunate for both him and fans that he can't.

I don't have a problem with Woody being a finesse player, but Acie Earl was a finesse player too, yet he could still throw it down when the occasion called for it. The problem with Woody is that he is so weak at the rim - I'm not sure he could dunk over somewhat if he wanted to. I'd like to see him give it a shot, though.
Sometimes you've just gotta get mean and throw it home. If you get fouled, then at least you go to the FT line. It might also dissuade some guys from getting in your way if they know you're the type to flush it.
In Woody's case - is he just too tentative and tries to finesse everything?

A 7' 1" guy should intimidate the opponent, overpower them, growl at them. Be the man in the middle.
Dunking, to a point, accomplishes that. Not that it has to be his only shot selection, but it needs to be done.
People know he's soft around the rim....ergo the 6'5" kid blocking him a couple of games ago.

I saw a half dozen slams last night at the Proviso West tourney last night, in one damn game and none of the kids were over 6 5"!
Woody has the shortest arms, smallest hands or worst hops over any 7 foot basketball player!
Seems like a nice kid and not his fault that he was so over rated coming out of high school. If he was rated a 2 star player Iowa fans wouldn't be so disappointed in his 2 star level play.
