2014-2015 ITH season preview: Iowa Hawkeyes

Talk about coming out swinging. For a second post it's a pretty big prediction. I for one hope you're right.

JuCo players with raw talent like his tend to thrive when they get "called up". Yes, they're playing against tougher competition, but that's more than outweighed by the better coaching they'll receive in Division I ball.

1st team All B1G is bold indeed. I will be happy if he contributes 5-8 PPG and has a great Assist to TO ratio. I do hope he plays well enough to move Gesell out to the SG more and allows us to have Dickerson and Gesell on the floor at the same time. This would give us 2 guards on the floor who can create their own shot.

In regards to Dickerson, I wouldn't be surprised to see him do extremely well - but, I'd hold off on proclaiming him all B1G. Further, don't sleep on Clemmons. He has stated that he has a new focus - so, it really wouldn't surprise me to see a new and improved Anthony this year.

Pretty fair writeup on Iowa from an IU fan. Hawks need the shooters to make shots this year, out at the arc....and pass the ball better ..a la Wisky. ...that is how they will get open shots...otherwise, halfcourt offense will struggle again. And defend, please!

I think that will happen quite a few times, again we have many options, less than last season which might be a good thing. I sometimes wonder if the substitution patterns were part of the problem. Of course, over the years, I have questioned the substitution patterns of all of our coaches, even Tom Davis. Seems like a player who is hot is taken out for some unknown reason.....

Gesell and Dickerson together could reap benefits, especially on steals and fast break transition baskets.....

And he should have a new focus, he plays like he is asleep.

Doesn't a player have to start before he can be 1st team all conference? Lets hold off on that talk till he's played a game and actually dominated out there first.... I'm not convinced he'll start or even play big mins right away. I think Gesell and Sap (sounds like Sap has gotten into the coaches good graces) will be the PGs with Oglesby and Jok at the 2 that doesn't leave Dickerson a ton. At least not right away. So for him to crack the lineup more he needs someone to get hurt, Someone else to play terrible, and he needs to play well.. If he starts day one I'll be surprised.
