2013 NFL Draft: Iowa Preview

Just being a returning starter OL at Iowa means you are going to have a chance at getting drafted in the late rounds. Not a surprise to see Tobin mentioned as just missing draft and being a free agent. If he doesn't get hurt, that's probably what will happen.
I don't think it meant "just missed getting drafted"...it meant "just missed the top 5"...but I see your point. However, I stand by my assessment of the young man...he is not NFL material based on last year's performance, not even close.

- The thing that stands out about Davis is that he has had almost no big plays (i can't think of one). McNutt and the DJK had a few while FR/SO/Jrs - Davis had none that i can recall.

But - Why is CJF mentioned in the pro draft prospects anyways? he's a JR - is that NFL tampering (or whatever the term is for that)?

(Answered in reverse order)

The NCAA doesn't mind speculation about being drafted, if he had agents coming to him trying to sell their services for after graduation that would be another story.

Exactly, how many 50+ yard plays does Davis have? I can think of multiple for MM and DJK. He has made some important plays, sure, I wouldn't discredit that. I mean plays that showcase how athletic he is, he doesn't have (m)any. That doesn't mean he can't/won't.

We'll have to play the wait-and-see game.

Davis is faster than DJK or MM and hes had more plays that show his athleticism than people are giving credit for.

He had a long run after catch against ISU in 09 where he made 3 or 4 people miss and either that year or the year before he made a ridiculous catch on the sidle lines that was thrown way over his head. Those are just some I can remember.

He has had allot of drops though.

Well just have to wait and see what he does this year but Ill be shocked if he dosen't have a big year as the #1 guy.

mcnutt has measurables and records...yet there were a few guys with better measurables and no records drafted before him. davis has more speed and quickness than mcnutt and similar height and strength. it is not beyond thought to expect him (with lower numbers) to get drafted or even drafted higher. he just needs to convince 1 team he is worth the pick and i think he will.

I think Davis gets drafted higher than McNutt. If he has a productive season and runs in the mid 4.4's at the combine he will get drafted in the 3rd/4th round.

HAHAHAHAHA

You're still here?!?!
After the EPIC PWNAGE in the Penn St thread!
My goodness!
That's a big fat LOL

There really ought to be a rule that if you get pwned at that kind of level, you're done. Banned. Removed from the board forever. Anyone like to second that?

LOL @ Davis being drafted

Same thing every year.

LOL at "whoever" getting drafted, then in april it happens.

Davis is this years Bernstein. Prototypical size and athleticism for the NFl combined with playing at Iowa means you will almost certainly get drafted.

The bad bet is to bet against it.
