2013 footbal schedule (Way to early predictions)

So you think the offense will get better under a QB with zero D-1 starts in a system that failed last season? Which WR's do you think will step up and gel with this offense?

I think our o-line should be better with Scherff,Blythe,Walsh,Boffelli,Van Sloten anchoring it...bigger,more mature and better. When our o-line is good, we usually have a chance to be decent.
At QB, I have heard good things about Sokol and Beathard....new qbs emerge every year at winning programs...it can happen at Iowa,like it did with Banks,Tate,Chandler,and Stanzi.
I liked the quickness I saw out of Tevan Smith,and KMart will be a two year vet next year. CJ caught more passes than any TE in in the league. Our rb corp will start with 5-6 guys....Bullock has good skills,Weisman is a pounder, Canzeri is quick,Hill is solid, Rogers will be back from injury, and Garmon is very fast with nice hands.

I have been around long enough to know that in college football, every season is a new opportunity,to be good or bad. We were close to winning 7-8 games this year,but did not make enough breaks...maybe next year we get the bounces. Go ahead and give up,and be miserable the next 7 months waiting for the Hawks to take the field again,and then assume it will be a disaster...enjoy the offseason.

I expect 4-8, but woulddn't be surprised with worse. I would have to see A TON of crazy optimism in spring and fall to expect anything more.

I have us losing for sure vs at Nebby,vs Michigan,at OSU....the other 9 games we could win any of them.

Easy to be doom and gloom right now,but I see us as improved at almost every position with experience and maturity in many young players that gained experience this year.

I will say 8-4.

It ain't easy being doom and gloom. In fact, it flat out sucks.

But I have no idea how you can say we'll be improved at almost every position. On offense, we lose KD who, while not great, is better than anything currently on the roster. We lose James Ferentz. We will be bringing back 2 OL who's legs were mangled against PSU. And we'll be breaking in a QB, whoever it is, that hasn't taken a single snap of D-1 football. There isn't a single thing on offense, save for maybe a Weisman/Bullock combo to be even the LEAST BIT excited about....and we all know what happens when we get excited about RBs...

On defense, we return 3 out of 4 DL that were part of the 114th ranked defense in terms of sacks....on top of that, our best sack guy on the DL graduates. We return 3 undersized linebackers who do nothing except make tackles 5 yards past the line of scrimmage, with a MLB that consistently gets dominated by OL. We return 2 safeties that are 2 of the worst safeties to ever play at Iowa. We return an overrated CB in Lowery. And our overall best player on the team, Hyde, graduates.

So yeah, other than everything I listed, we should be improved at almost every position....

Did something happen at Purdue other than going 6-6 that their coach got fired for?

He didn't have a very good agent, plus he didn't have an AD like Barta.

Without going into detail I cant see us winning more than 4 or 5 games and we could easily be 3-9.

Remember, this is a team with a bad offense that runs about the same 5 plays in very distinct patterns. We cannot overpower anyone anymore and our patterns and trends make us easy to shut down.

And our defense just had a very good year in turnovers but was not great against the run or pass rush. I think our dbacks and lbackers could have been better in pass coverage with a good pass rush.

I we are not stronger better tacklers against the run next year and dont have a better pass rush, next year will be ugly.

You give him way too much credit. The reality is that he doesn't see the problem and actually believes that it is almost tehre.

For the ferentz apologists, stick this up on your mirror. Maybe that will help you believe how in denial ferentz is.
