alot will probably depend how hard the NCAA comes down on the Buckeyes. If I'm OSU i want this resolved asap, and i impose a post season ban THIS year so they can compete in the post season hopefully in 2012 but more likely 2013 or 2014
 
Well it can't be resolved until the hearing in August. Gene Smith says the coaching search wont start until December which baffles my mind.
 
For Stoops it would be nearly a lateral move and combine that with his quotes from last year saying he has no desire to play Iowa and the mess tOSU is in and it makes no sense at all for him.
 
Paul Rhoads actually makes sense from the standpoint that OSU will want to hire a squeaky clean class act to replace JT. If Rhoads gets the clones to a bowl game this season, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see his name being discussed.

It all depends on the NCAA sanctions. If they get hit hard for 2 or 3 years they might stick with Fickle because hiring a high profile coach will be extremely tough

Wait 2 years, let the dust settle then maybe Urban will be sick of his family and want to get back into coaching

It sounds like they are going to get what they deserve - USC style. Although, USC deserves more, if they are simply looking at the Reggie Bush violations...

My guess is that OSU will go after a Lame Kiffin type coach. Very Ron Zookish. Can't coach to save their lives, but they are tops in recruiting. Get as much top talent as possible, with the limited scholarships. Then hire a Real coach in a couple years to get them back on top. Kiffin will be gone in two years. Zook should have been, but damn I am glad he is still there!!!
 
I will be a LOT more surprised if OSU hires Paul Rhoads than I was that Auburn hired Gene Chizik... and I was completely floored by that one.

Rhoads is NOT the high profile name that OSU fans want to be hired. At least most people knew about Gene Chizik... since he was a defensive coordinator for National Champion Texas.

If Fickell does well, they may keep him? If not, it will be a high profile name IMO.

Gene Smith isn't stupid enough to think anyone will come within 100 miles of that job until after the NCAA has announced any punishments.

Other.........Jon Gruden, Jay Gruden, Someone completely off the radar, An NFL guy with OSU ties. I will get a better feel come late fall.
 
Read Urban Meyer's book- he looks at the ability to win when looking at a job. Ohio State will be a mess and will have (I sure think they will) a lot of sanctions and other USC type of punishments.

Urban Meyer also released a statement tonight saying he is not going to Ohio State...but he talked about what he had to do at Florida and then 2 weeks later resigned.
