2011 Most Remembered Defensive play

Watching the 2005 Bowl game against LSU. Wow, Id forgotten how great the defense was, and how mediocre Drew Tate actually was. We had a Defense that actually made big plays. Did this years team have a Most Remembered Defensive play that stands out in your mind? Not me! There's at least 6 in this 2005 game alone. What I would do for a good old fashioned Blocked punt and score against OU.

Drew Tate was mediocre? That's laughable. The only reason the offense scored any points that year is because of Drew Tate. Yes the D was great that year, but Tate was the leader on offense

Tate was incredible in 2004 with brownlee at rb. stats were better in 05 but a young dline didn't come on until the end of season.2006... he played mediocre but was injured the whole year.

2005 was very similar to 2011... except the dline was much improved by the end of season. can't say that about 2011.

Top defensive play was Tanner Miller's roughly 98 yard pick 6 against NW. The cats were ready to score and make it close before halftime. The hawks hadnt beaten anybody yet. They couldnt stop the clones, played OK on dee against psu. Hawks needed something to ignite big win over the cats and the d-line rush forced a bad throw that Miller took the distance.

Unforturnately there were a lot of poor defensive plays especially the hawks not keeping contain and making tackles that overshadow the good plays.

I remember a play they didn't make. 3rd OT in the ISU game. 4th and goal. Jantz throws a pass to the left corner, well defended by Castillo, all he had to do was stick his hand up and bat the ball. Iowa would have won. Instead the catch is made and ISU goes on the win in the 4th OT...

2011 dline mproved tremendously this year ais they got healthy. They may not be at the level of the 2005 d line but is the same talent there?

My play is the Denard Fumble.

Think I'm changing my answer. I was even at this game, and it slipped my mind somehow..... Probably due to spraining my ankle on the bleachers during this very play. :D:(
