2010 Mock NFL Draft v1.0

For draft analysis, I usually go to Mike Mayock, the guy just does a better breakdown on NFL talent than anyone else that I've seen, and here is a quote from him about Clausen going #1:

I asked Mayock if there's any chance that a quarterback could move into that first overall pick and he said it was highly doubtful.

"I think it's a big reach,'' Mayock said. "The logical guy is (Oklahoma's Sam) Bradford. I'm not a big (Jimmy) Clausen fan. No way in the world in my mind -that's today, I've still got a lot more work to do on Bradford. Those two players (Suh and McCoy) just dwarf the quarterback issue.''

Nobody like Sanchez at this time last year either. I love Mayock too. But give him time and he will change his tune on Clausen. As to Clausen vs. Bradford it is Clausen by a mile- Clausen takes snaps under-center, stonger arm and a foot injury. Tell me the starting Qb in the league right now drafted in the 2nd round.

Steelers are not going to take Earl Thomas with their first pick, maybe in the 2nd rd. if he slides for the following reasons:

1) B. Rothliesberger has been sacked 150+ over the last 4 years added to the fact he has had 3 concussions. Yeah, he holds on to the ball waaaaaaaay to long at times and riding a motorcycle without a helmet wasn't the brightest idea in the world with that said the o-line is still mediocre at pass blocking at best. Tomlin has made the statement that Big Ben can't continue to get sacked at this pace.

2) The Trent Dilfer rule: In today's pass happy league you need to be able to run the football in three situations: goal line, short yardage and chewing up clock to maintain leads at the end of games. The steelers were awful at all 3. Off. Coordinator Bruce Arian looks like he won't be fired and Mendenhall put up decent numbers, Tomlin has elluded to it be a line issue.

3)Troy P. is 29 yrs. of age and missed 18 games in 7 years and 10 or 11 was this year. You can't put him in that Bob Sanders category just yet.
Resigning Ryan Clark or going the fa route is the more likely scenario.

4) D-line has age to it Hampton, Keisel, Smith are all in their early to mid thirties so Cody would be more likely to be drafted than Thomas. Drafted Ziggy Hood last year so they are slowly trying to rebuild that d-line.

5) Unless their is an huge gap between o-lineman they will take the best available one on the board.

You dont waste a 1st round pick on a guy solely based on his ability to sell tickets. If he sucks and isnt good enough to play QB then it will be a double whammy because no one is buying tickets to see him wear a headset

After his 1st day performance in the Senior Bowl Todd McShay just said Tebow is fighting to be picked in the 2nd round.

Deace is a smart guy but he is waaaay off on the Tebow prediction. It reminds me of when people said the Browns would draft Troy Smith just to sell tickets.

Aw, Steve had to wait for his last pick to insure his Wolverines would have a player drafted in the first round

I actually think Graham ends up going to NE....the guy is an elite speed rusher and I'm sure the Pats could find a million ways to use him. I'm a colts fan, I don't see us picking Graham. Graham fits a 3-4 scheme better than a 4-3 scheme.

The pressure on the Rams from their fans and the STL media to take Suh is enormous.

They will take Suh or trade down to take Clausen. No way they keep the #1 pick and use it on Clausen.
