2010 Hawks Not Underachievers

The 2010 team didn't underacheive, they were just a pretty average team at the end of the day.

1. They are not fast or quick.
2. They get very little pressure on QBs.
3. They have inexperienced, average LBs.
4. McNutt and DJK are excellent players, but they are not particularly dynamic (think Ted Ginn, Jr., Desmond Howard, Tim Dwight, etc.)
5. Offensive line was okay, not particularly good.
6. Special teams was bad, generally - punter was pretty good.

And this is okay, the Hawks will be back in the top 10 soon -- then they'll have a bad year or two again, because this is how it works.

if you didn't think this team underachieved and was a dropped pass away from 6-6 then you are smoking crack.

This team will have the most players drafted from an Iowa roster ever. With a 7-5 record losing to less talented Northwestern and Minnesota teams. That is underachieving. Clayborn, Ballard, Stanzi, DJK, Reisner, and Donahue are locks to be drafted. Klug, Hunter, Tarp, Morse, Greenwood and Vandervelde all have a reasonable shot or a chance to be drafted. Out of that group of 12 more than 6 will be drafted. If Sash or McNutt were to leave they would be drafted- they would not be drafted high but they would be selected.
