It's still ahead of us. Winning a championship is the goal, we haven't won an outright big ten championship I believe in my lifetime. Plenty to play for the NC was a pipe dream, but just real fun to hope for. That's why we need a playoff, one loss and the dream is dead. With a playoff their would be so many teams still dreaming the dream.

I was thinking about the game today, and the closest parallel I can think is the Illinois game in 2008. That game featured a blown coverage leading to a long touchdown pass, and a Stanzi fumble deep Iowa territory that was returned for a touchdown. Iowa rallied from 14 down in the 4th to tie it, but the defense yielded for the Illini to hit the game winning field goal with less than a minute left.

Yes, that Illini team turned out to be really bad, but that isn't the point. For a one game comparison, I think the way those two games played out are pretty similar.

I thought we still looked like a good team. Arizona is a good team. We just didn't do the things you need to do special teams wise to win a game against a good team on the road. I still think we can win a lot of games. We just can't give other good teams 21 junk points.

As far as pure offense and defensive play, we played slightly better than Arizona last night.
