Does anyone remember what they were saying about the Buckeyes in 2002 when we were making our run? Just about the same things that are being said about Iowa. Check out the link above for a narrative of their season, they trailed in 7 of 8 Big Ten games, won low scoring ugly games, and won the National Championship. Let's just take care of business and not worry about national perception of the Hawks.

They also beat Kent St by 44 points, Texas Tech by 24, a Washington St team that played in the Rose Bowl by 18, and San Jose St by 43. Its a comparison, but that Ohio St team was truly great. Chris Gamble was awesome in college. Mike Doss was probably better than Sash is, and Clarrett really was a great back that year. I think its a comparison, but there are holes in it.

Not saying its a perfect analogy, but we have good nonconference wins over Ia St and Arizona. Not blow outs but good solid wins. They also beat Cincinnati by 4 and Kent St. was not very good.

Its more a point of perception, if I remember correctly the talk went from not being deserving of their ranking in midyear to how resilient they were by the end of the year.

35-3 is a blowout.

Also, Stanzi is better than Krenzel. Or at least he has more upside and pro potential.

It would be nice to have Maurice Clarrett right about now though.
