That was a sweet win. In the past couple of years, they've turned the tables on Iowa, denying the Hawks a shot at a BT title. Time to stop that nonsense. I mean, they're Northwestern. Geesh.

Ironic to see this, on KCRG they were talking about JVB being the first Iowa born QB to start since Kyle McCann.

McCann, Banks and Christensen are the only QBs in the Ferentz era who could tame the 'Cats. Pretty exclusive company on that list and that's why I see NO WAY Stanzi ever gets material time starting in the NFL. But after going 0-3 against Northwestern, Stanzi is widely referred to around Evanston as everyone's favorite non-Northwestern QB, narrowly edging out Tim Brasic and Juice Williams for the honor.

I forgot what a huge win that was. For a 2-8 team to beat a nationally ranked team is quite an upset. This game was the beginning of a great run of Iowa football.

Can't wait for the 2011 season

It's interesting to see these old teams. You realize just by looking at the team that it looks physically more like an old Hayden Fry team than the teams we are now used to seeing under Ferentz, which is also due to how much the Big Ten has changed in the last 10 years. Remember when Northwestern and Purdue were the only teams to run the spread?

Also, gotta love how Ladell Betts ran the ball.

It's quite amazing how much you like NW. Not sure why you feel the need to play it off like you are an Iowa fan.

That may be true, but he didn't really get a fair shot in '09. I believe we would've thoroughly dominated that game had Stanzi not been injured. Of course it's easy to do the coulda shoulda woulda thing..
