East-West Shrine Game 2013 practice report: Keith Pough, Zeke Motta some of the standoutso - SBNation.com

Keenan Davis, WR, Iowa: The Iowa wide receiver didn't really live up to what most thought he would, but some of that was due to playing with quarterback James Vandenberg, who's quite frankly not any good. Davis however had a nice day of practice and I was told be some others there he had a nice showing on Monday. Davis has good size to play the outside receiver position and adequate speed to get down the field. Davis attacks the ball rather than letting it into his body and tracks it downfield well. Teams looking for a possible third receiver might keep an eye on Davis, especially at his 40-yard dash time.

Micah Hyde
, CB, Iowa: The Hawkeye cornerback is an interesting player to watch, because many feel that he can transition to the safety position like some other Iowa corners have done at the next level. In one-on-one drills, Hyde did a nice job in press coverage, turning his hips and running with receivers after the jam. The biggest question for Hyde is his top-end speed, but his best NFL fit might be on the inside as a nickel corner or a third safety.

This might be the year where no rookie Hawks make an opening day active roster.

I think Hyde will. I don't believe he'll ever be a shutdown corner but I do think he could be a player in nickel/dime packages and on special teams.

Looks like he will follow the path of nearly every other Iowa corner and move to safety in the NFL.

Where can I literally invest my money with these guys? Just give me an address and the check is in the mail, don't worry about eligibility because these guys already graduated.

I think Ferentz was the only one who didn't think that.

Hyde reminds me of Merton Hanks. He'll be on a roster I think too. Davis could be a pro if he finds the right situation. He'll need to catch the ball better but if he impresses in these post season deals there will be a team take a flier on him. He'll pass the eye ball test.

Davis does not go and fight for the ball - no combine can test heart and desire. i think he is not nfl worthy, but if some team thinks so - good luck .....

He's apparently doing some of those things in Shrine Bowl practices. I hope he does well. He was one of my favorite guys to cover this season; really had a blast talking with him for the Pregame cover I wrote on him.

Really? Have some facts and film... video or any expert opinion to back that up? Please do.
