It seems as though as the got towards the bottom of the poll they just started pulling names out of a hat. Putting out a poll before anyone has played a game is one of the dumbest things done around college football.
 
Interesting. Michigan recieved more votes than Iowa. I guess Mich's new OC is going to work miracles.

Mich is 32nd
Iowa is 33rd.

This is not bad. I usually like it when Iowa starts out in the 30 to 40 range.

^^^^ Like. That is the best situation for the hawks.

And let's not get ahead of ourselves. I want to see a nice win over UNI, a better win over Ball State, and then a really good win over ISU, and then I will check the polls.

If the hawks are 3-0 to start the season then they have a 6 game regular season win streak. That is when things will get interesting and it will put them in or close to the top 25.

Then you take care of business the next few weeks and boy the momentum will build, 2009 all over again.

Maybe if Iowa starts 3-0, they will creep into the top 25, but maybe not. But if they then win at Pitt to go 4-0, they will definitely be ranked at the start of BigTen play.

But only if they are 4-0. If Iowa starts 3-1, it will be not be ranked.

With our schedule, we could be 10-0 and not in the top 10. The top 10 would something like two or three 10-0 teams, two 9-1 teams, an 8-2 team and then a bunch of 7-3 SEC teams.

Come on ohqueef, you're better than that. If we are 10-0 we will be in the top ten. Log ways to go before that happens (and I don't think it will) but I'll bet you your luxury seats now that if it happens we are top ten.
 
Auburn was unranked in this coaches poll last year.

BTW, it's the AMWAY coaches poll now. Fitting, I suppose, since the NCAA is pretty much a fraud and a ponzi scheme.
