So we lost a game most expected to lose last night but here is what we have coming up.

@ Purdue - L
Michigan
@ Nebraska
Rutgers
Purdue

So 5 games into the Big10 I'd expect us to be either 2-3 or 3-2. 1-4 is certainly a possibility and 4-1 very unlikely.

My point here being, the Michigan game is a huge game, if we can win that 3-2 begins to look much more possible. Even if we are 2-3 through 5 we aren't in terrible shape.

Following these 5 games we have a 7 game stretch where the toughest games are: Maryland,@NW, OSU, and @Minnesota. Certainly 4/5 wins is attainable there, and we'd still have home games VS.. ILL and PSU on the schedule in our final 6 games.

So if we beat Michigan I think 9/10 wins is very attainable for this team and we certainly have the talent to steal one or two along the way.

Big one Sunday.

Agree - the Michigan game is very important to setting the ton to how the rest of the season goes.

If we lose to Michigan, I would say our tournament chances are completely gone. If we win, we have a chance.

It will be interesting to see what the spread is. I was surprised when I saw Michigan was #28 in KenPom. Maybe they are a little tougher than I thought. My guess Michigan -4.5.

Interesting question. Reminds me of last year. First 5 B1G games were:

vs MSU
@ Purdue
vs Nebraska
@MSU
vs Michigan

Folks were worried about starting 1-4 or 2-3 in conference play. Then, Iowa won all 5 games! Talk turned to winning the conference. And, then, regression hit later in the conference season.

I agree that Sunday is a big game for a young team. But it's a long conference season.

If we win the next 4, we're dancing for sure. 3-1 gives us a chance. 2-2 is game over.

For me it's too early to say. If we start 2-3, we could still finish 10-8. If we upset a UW or Indiana and win a game in the BTT, we'd be on the bubble. Avoid any bad losses and we'd have a shot.

Yeah, I would say 1-4 is a strong possibility from the look of things last night.

That's exactly where I think best case is if we go 2-3. The only difference is I don't think we get in with that record. Maybe if we make the Big 10 Championship Game.

Fair enough. Actually your right, 19-14 (10-8 / 1-1) probably won't be enough. Our RPI is looking like it's going to be crummy as well.

Roller coaster rides can scary and fun at the same time....................... just as long as you don't come off the tracks.
