Slams Cole to the floor and Cole gets the foul?????????????? Just watched it over and over... at least it seems to have fired up the Hawkeyes!

O'Rear's got a big a** and uses it effectively. Unfortunately for him, most of the time it's a foul, although these stripes apparently didn't get the memo on that being a point of emphasis this season.

And... if you thought that arm lock slam he did on Cole was an accident... he put Basabe in an armlock towards the end of the game as he was going to the floor. This guy is sneaky dirty and looks to be 30 years old. What a sham.

I will never stand up for O'Rear because he is a cheap shot and not a "hustler". However, that was the correct call on Cole. You cannot fly over a dudes shoulder. Over the back is not a real call, the call is a push in the back which is what Cole did.

The reason I put the time in the Subject line was so people could review it... Cole had an open lane. O'Rear backed in under him to undercut him intentionally followed by an arm bar slam. Defend this fella all you want, but that is just dirty.

Not to mention he has the worst "Missouri Compromise" i've ever seen (google it if you need further clarification.)

Go back and review it from another angle, watching O'Rear's feet/legs. He clearly backs into the lane as Jarryd elevates to put him on his back, then to the floor. At minimum a personal foul; could have been a technical assessed as well.

ORear end should have been thrown out of the game. He physically attacked Basabe towards the end of the game, tackling him to the ground. On many shots he would turn and punch his man in the stomack with his fist or elbow. A sad excuse for an athlete in my view.

O'Rear was out of control a couple times last night.
I was extremely proud of the Iowa players to not let it get to them. You could tell a couple times when Basabe was cheapshotted by him, he wanted to say something or do something, but he walked away. Matt helped out a few times in this regard.

The undercut on Cole sure got Margaret's attention. She started jawing something fierce.

For various reasons I have not been able to watch as much Iowa hoops on TV this season as I would like (or was able to do years ago when we lived in state). Have the TV cameras shown Margaret this year? I'd like to see her in action. :D

They have not, and it's been a huge disappointment.

This is O'Rears game. He is a linebacker out there. Sticking his butt out, fighting for rebounds, hacking. He is a hitman and he plays his role very well.
