Let me preface this by saying I didn't see the game today, but we have reason for optimism. We have 6 games remaining and we can win them all. Our kicker is a Groza semi-finalist and when we have good special teams, the sky is the limit for the Hawks. Here is how I see the remainder of the season shaking out:
Michigan - Win (while Denard usually lets the d-line run past him, he will have no answer for our d-line when he encounters them 3 yards on the defensive side of the LOS)
MSU - Win (they haven't won at Kinnick bince like '89)
Purdue - Win (tough rivalry game and we are always tough at Ross-Ade)
Nebraksa - Win (Ferentz remembers the last time we played them and will cook up something special)
B10 title game - Win against Wisconsin or PSU (we get there based on a 6-2 record with the tiebreaker against MSU (who lost to Nebby today and will lose to us), one of Michigan or Nebby will be 5-3, and we will have the other in a tiebreaker)
Rose Bowl - Win against Standford (Luck's luck will run out - the way we bottled up Persa makes me think we will crush Luck)
Add those 6 wins to our current 5 and we have 11 wins. If you don't see the season shaping up this way and are giving up on this squad, you're not a Hawk fan and you should get the hell off this site. We're still in the thick of the hunt and Ferentz's teams always get better in November, with just a handful of exceptions, we are nearly impossible to beat in November and if you aren't buying futures on Iowa going to the Rose Bowl (to hedge the cost of your tickets) you are an idiot.
