11/12: My B1G Power Rankings

Yep. McGary struggles to score when playing other teams with size and not being fed wide open shots all day.

Then you really didn't watch...I am amazed at how little Iowa fans think of McGary, if he played for Iowa you all would think he is an All-American, which he is.

So 6/15 is a good game for him?

Still recorded 14 pts. Here is what I am talking about and if you can't comprehend it from here I don't know what to tell you.
12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks against a team that had a huge height advantage over him.

6/15 is not as bad as you think it is against a team with the size of FSU. You will say, it is because he has no post moves. Crap, he missed two follow ups at the end of the game on the same play. If he makes one of those or doesn't take those he is either 7/14, or 6/13, at worst 7/15, yeah that sucks.
It is his 3rd game of the season and he has practiced fully for about a week, man, that is so terrible and I would take that night out of any one of Iowa's big guys any day. The funny thing is he will put up numbers more often than that than just about any big man in the Big Ten because he knows how to rebound, he finds the open guy and he plays his butt off every second he is on the floor.
Did you see him bring the ball up the floor more than once and lead the fast break? They guy is a flat out stud, grasp the concept. If you and some others want to be in denial of what type of player he is, fine, I will just stop defending him because he is clearly better than any player on Iowa's roster and I wish he was on Iowa's team.

The ignorance that exists on this board to opponents is amazing, considering people were so impressed that Marble went 1/1,000 against Indiana, but he got double digit points from the FT line.

I watched the game and thought McGary is very fluid for his size. He reminds me of a beefier McDermot Jr. Good instincts around the basket. Mich doesn't seem to like to feed inside and prefer outside shots and drives. FL St. has three 7' + but only 2 can really play, with 6' 7" players but not too deep. McGary runs kind of funny, almost like favoring some lingering back pains. I'm surprised that Mich pulled out a win but it took OT to do it though.

Ucon winning against IND may have helped IA better than IND winning since IND won't leapfrog IA now.

Being better than anyone on Iowa has no bearing on what I think of McGary. He's a preseason all-american, obviously he's better than Woody or Basabe. And I never denied he plays hard and rebounds well, he's just not a good post scorer. The fact that you are talking him up so much after a 6/15 game is just proving my point. But he'll have a chance to prove me wrong. Duke has no inside game so he should be able to throw up a 20/10 easily against them and he'll get to match up with Aaron Gordon shortly as well.

Yeah he had no post moves today and he didn't hit a jumper. If UM forced the ball to him he would get 20 pts every game. It isn't that hard to figure out.

I talk him up because he can flat out play.

Whoa he hit a jumper! That ends any discussion, he's the best big man in the game.

Too late bro. Enjoy your last few days before the ban begins.

Indiana lost too. If they would've won today this would have been a done deal. I still say IF UMass wins again they will be ranked above Iowa. But I don't care, I will just not post for 2 weeks anyway.

Enjoy The Silence ... by Depeche Mode, lol. At least be happy when IA should be ranked by the AP next week for the Atlantis tourney.

That is the only area he struggled today, UM won because he looked healthy and played big minutes.

Michigan won because Stauskas took over. GR3 hit a couple shots and the point guard made some FTs. McGary contributed to the win but they definitely didn't win because of him. He missed an easy put back and the game winner in regulation. He's good. He's not great at this point...maybe down the road when/if he gets an offensive game.

Stauskas took over, using your words and had a similar game against ISU and they lost. McGary played 33 minutes had a double double and was a force on both ends against a better team in FSU and UM won.

He makes them a top 10 team and the second best team in the BT.

You are wrong on this. They might be the 3rd best team in the BT but they are not better than Michigan State.

Yeah, go ahead and twist my words. Enjoy your little man crush on McGary. I'll be interested to see what your excuses are as the season progresses. I'll admit if I'm wrong. I don't expect the same from you...considering you chose a small piece of my post to quote and twist.

I didn't twist anything. Stuaskas took over for UM against ISU and had a similar game, the difference between the two games was McGary being a factor in all areas of the game. It isn't that hard to figure out if you watched both games.

For the record, I am wrong a lot and never afraid to admit it. Take a look back on what I had to say about Eric May.
