I think that Gesell, Marble, McCabe and Oglesby are all capable three-point shooters.

Marble is not. McCabe is a good shooter, but doesn't shoot much. Gesell has never attempted a three, so I'll hold off judgement there.

We have one proven three point shooter.

Match the 3pt% to the shooter

37% 41% 39% 45%

Marble, McCabe, Gatens, Ogelsby

No cheating Ghost, who shot what last year

McCabe 45%, Marble 37%, White 39%, Gatens 41%.

Full disclosure, I looked up McCabe's earlier today. I believe he shot fewer than 45 threes though.

Well I didn't list White cause he shot like 25%.....

You got 2 out of 4. Ogelsby shot 37% and Marble 39%

Iowa has 3 guys who can shoot the 3. Ogelsby, McCabe and Gessel. Well see about Marble.

If I had to guess Id say McCabes 3pt attempts are going to go way up while his percentage will go down. All of his ptl and scrimmage video is him just jacking up threes all game long.

And McCabe hit 57% from the three point line during the PTL season. Yeah, it's the PTL, but it proves him to be a more than adequate shooter from that range and I doubt that he is suddenly going to start chucking them up recklessly during game play. Marble is the guy we need to improve his outside shooting and given his aspirations of a NBA career, I think it has been his focus this off season. Hopefully it will translate to success during the season.

I hope defense has been his focus, not his shooting. We have enough scorers, we need stoppers.

Ghost, I thought you just tried to make the point that we don't have enough proficient three point shooters.

White is another player that has to improve in this area if he is to become the complete player we hope to see.

You probably should hold off on calling anyone a 3 pt shooter or not. Besides, you kinda changed your tune there going from "we don't have three guys who can shoot the 3" to "we have one PROVEN 3 pt shooter"
Your first quote I do not agree with. The second is correct.

Changed my tune? Some guy said we have three shooters, I say we have one. If the games start, and MG or White start burning nets, I'll change my tune.
