1 thing that could make you anti hawk?

I know it is not the same comparison but I remember being in the stands for the first game under Hayden. Exciting brand of football for that day and age. The excitement was unbelievable. IIRC, QB was in the shotgun, throw it around, the new uniforms. Change isn't always bad

If Jesus appeared to me, looked straight at me, then demanded that I stopped caring about the Hawkeyes....
I would seriously consider it. Otherwise, no, I'm cheering till the final gun, aka, my last breath.

really, you would stop rooting for the hawks if we ran the spread? no offense but thats a load of crap. Look at what happened at michigan, and theyre fans are as passionate as ever. they still sell out every week. my guess is if you change your feelings towards how you root for the hawks this easily, and we did change offensive philosophies to the spread, and we won 13 games and went to the MNC game you would be back on the bandwagon...you sir, make me nausious

I think it would start at the top. I'd be embarrassed to have a coach who makes his players sing "You Raise Me Up" (Richrod) or a coach who ridicules opposing players in public (Dantonio). I tend to really dislike coaches who wear their faith on their sleeve, i.e. Urban Meyer.

Ferentz is my dream coach: he is liberal, he has dignity, he is universally respected by everyone in the profession, and he builds his teams around the OL.

Although I wish the W-L record was a little better.

I think if we ever went to a spread like Missery played I would have to pull up camp. I know thats not what we are about and it wont happen, but I swear if it ever does, see ya. I love power run, strong D football, not trying to run trick plays and such.
To be honest when no one was in Missery's backfield except the qb it kind of made me think thats how girls would play the game and I know some girls who would still have more of a run game than they had.
I know it worked out for us well, because if they could have moved it on the ground I think they would have won it.

So you don't like the spread offense or some type of the spread and would rather just stick to the power I and run, run, and run some more? Well can you tell me what all these teams have in common other than running some type of "spread" into their offense:

Tennessee
Florida St
Oklahoma
Miami, FL
Ohio St
LSU
USC
Texas
Florida
Alabama
Auburn or Oregon

All these teams have won BCS national titles by using some sort of "spread" offense, in fact about the only one you could say is more power would be Alabama last year. I'm not saying Iowa needs to switch to the spread but they do need to mix it up a little if they really do want to take the next step IMO.

They could become the first college school to start a female QB who attempts 75 passes a game and I'd still be a hawk - just not a happy one. Dumb question.
