1. OSU, 2. Iowa, 3. Wisconsin

Marc Morehouse tweeted that Kirk Ferentz told an I-Club group that Iowa will be released as the media's pick to finish #2 in the Big Ten, when that comes out tomorrow morning.

Just as expected.

IF and I mean IF we take two losses, I see them being @ AZ and @ scUM.
Hawks are measurably more talented and far better coached than both of these teams, but they are classic tough/trappy away games.

Those are my losses too. Early in season is when we typically have trouble.

I don't think we lose to OSU this year. It was way to close in the 'Shoe last year with Vandenburg playing. A healthy non pick six Stanzi should propel the Hawks to victory at home. If I had to pick two losses, I'd have to say MSU and maybe, just maybe the wisconsin game...

I actually think we have a better chance of slipping up against someone else. I'll take Iowa over OSU though.

I don't see a loss to Michigan. I have questioned Jon's prediction of that loss since he said it. This will be RichRod's last season.

My gut tells me a lose to AZ. But i hope i am wrong. OSU is probably a lose too. And Michigan scares me. I will have a better feel after i see what all 3 teams look like early on. But if iowa can keep stanzi healthy, and keep our running backs healthy, i think this team has a great chance of going undefeated. They came darn close last year, and may have, had it not been for stanzi's injury. we will never know.

I know PSU is a little down this year, but that game scares me.

I say 11-1 and in the NC game vs Boise St. If this happens, we would have a playoff in a couple of years with all the outrage.

Man, a lot of negative nancys in this thread.

Here's what I think about the three games everyone seems to be worried about.

Iowa is going to beat Arizona because Iowa is the better team. I know a lot of people want to bring up 2004, but that was six years ago, and was the first road start for a sophomore QB. Stanzi is a senior, and has won games @Wisconsin, MSU, and PSU. Arizona's 50K seat stadium is not going to make him blink, especially when there are 15-20K Iowa fans in the house.

Iowa is going to beat Michigan because (once again) Iowa is the better team. Iowa also has a bye week ahead of this game, while Michigan has to play MSU. I would think that Norm and his staff will be able to come up with a plan to stop whomever Michigan starts at QB. Remember how effective Forcier was last year? Neither do I.

OSU - Iowa went into their house last year, was down by 14 with 10 minutes to go, and did what I'm guessing nobody here expected them to do - they came back. Iowa didn't have Wegher or Stanzi, and fought OSU toe-to-toe. This year, they have to come here. If this game comes down to what we all think it's going to come down to, how can you not like the Hawks?

No way Iowa gets in the NC game with a loss.
