1/13 AP Ranking

We have a shot to hit the top 15. Illinois, Mizzou, Colorado, L'ville, Duke, Oregon and Baylor all lost this week.

I feel like someone's missing. Oh yeah. Iowa State lost. Honestly, I thought going into this game we would be ranked 15th with a win...regardless of what other teams did this week. Don't everyone have a stroke if Ohio State is about 10th and still ahead of us...may very well happen.

I think we land at 15, maybe 14. We jump UMASS and Kansas on the virtue of this being a great win, and then we jump Duke, Oregon and Colorado because they lost. Might jump Louisville, too. But I don't think Baylor is going to drop below 13.

We should end up right around 15. Ohio St should stay in the top 10, I'll guess 7th.

I think Ohio State would have been around 6th or 7th with the Michigan State loss only. I think this double digit home loss being the 2nd loss of the week they land about 10th. Just guessing...and don't really care that much. We should beat Minnesota at home...especially with a week to prepare. On the 20th we'll be knocking on the door of the top 10.

Yeah, you could be right. I'm probably a little biased and don't think someone like Oklahoma St should be ahead of them. Doesn't matter at all though. I'm almost glad we get a week off to re-focus and don't slip up against Minn. We will win that one. If we can win at Michigan too, oh boy, that would be nice.

Agree 100%. Beat Minnesota next Sunday and top 10 should be very reasonable.

I was thinking we would end up 16 or 17 but that was before I saw the list of teams ahead of us that lost. I predict 14 now. Should have two top 15 teams in the state of Iowa...pretty cool. Of course without Kane isu is not a top 15 team...hope he isn't hurt too bad.

The basketball season is so much more fun when you can root for all the teams ahead of Iowa to lose. It keeps me interested in a lot more games then I otherwise would be.

I have to imagine that people who vote know our "closing against good teams" issue. It had gotten to the point where it was mentioned in nearly every article about us. I wonder if now that that has been lifted if we rocket up the rankings (probably will just because of the win quality and the fact that teams ahead of us lost)

Or we could modestly move up between 19th and 16th because some of those lazy voters already submitted by noon?

Excellent point.

IMO, people wanted to believe in us, vote us higher, slip that gear shift into 4th gear.

Now that we've removed the shackles, depress the clutch baby!
