Imagine if Kadyn Proctor stayed and was Iowa's LT on this year's OLine...

...holy cow. That would have been one of the best OLines in the nation this year, and would be in the running as one of Iowa's best OLines ever. Gronowski would have had the cleanest pocket of any BTen QB, that's for sure!

Big Ten Network 2025 Iowa Fall Training Camp

That would be sweet, for sure. If we beat the Clones and Indiana beats Illinois the week before playing Iowa, the Indiana/Iowa line will be interesting. Probably a point or two either way. If we lose in Ames and the Hoosiers beat Illinois, I think we'll be a home dog in that spot, but again...

Big Ten Network 2025 Iowa Fall Training Camp

I'd expect us to be a home dog vs the Ducks, and probably at Lincoln, too. Heck, we may be a home dog vs Indiana! If we're not favored at Madison, something has gone wrong.

    Who's Attending Games This Year?

Wow. I did not realize that.

    Who's Attending Games This Year?

Season tickets arrived in the mail this week. I'll be there.

Touring Bike (not the pedal kind...)

Sorry I can't help with recs -- sounds like you're gonna have a lot of fun no matter which model you decide on. Good for you. But you asked about bikes...I've only owned 2 in my 67 years of life: * As soon as I got my driver's license in 1974 I bought a 1968 300cc Yamaha street bike for...

    Who's Attending Games This Year?

Great post. I will say this: you're part of a vanishing breed. Back in the '70s, '80s and every decade since I've had reasons to make the drive on I-80 from Iowa to CA and back. Up to 10 years ago there was always a steady stream of Gold Wings and other big bikes on the road -- often couples...

    Iowa's Surprising Depth.

The BTen Network commentators who were in ICity recently agree with you. They were especially impressed with the quality and depth at OLine & RB. While less effusive about what they saw at the Qb and WR positions, they acknowledged the depth at those positions as well. Knowing that an injury...

    Kids Day Recap

We'll no doubt get his best effort, but the fact is he's still learning a new system, with new WRs, and wasn't able to do significant live 11 on 11 work until a few weeks ago due to surgery. In a wide-open, air-raid type offense that's probably not a big deal, but Iowa's current offense ain't...

"Others may disagree, but I think Nate Stanley type production is his floor." I'd be thrilled if you're correct. I hope you are.

    Kids Day Recap

Gronkowski on Saturday during 11 on 11 was unofficially 10-20, 134 yds and a likely pick-6 INT. Granted, the defense is usually ahead of the offense at this point in fall camp, the defense knows the offense's plays by this time, etc. But the defenses Gron faced for most of his career at SDState...

    Kids Day Recap

I suspect that Gronoski's performance today will dilute the Hawkeye Kool-Aid a bit, which I think is a good thing. The young man has enough pressure on him -- he doesn't need 70,000 fans in Kinnick predicting he's going to be the next Chuck Long. Watching some of his SDState games, he seems...

    Higgins!!!

Well, THAT didn't take long! Good for him.

    Higgins!!!

I just caught the end of that game and saw him knock down a 4th down pass attempt at the LOS, which basically ended the game. The announcer said he'd "had a big 2nd half" but I didn't know what that meant...must have been referring to the interception.

Who will be starting running back

This is at least the 2nd year of preseason hype about Moulton, and he hasn't been that impressive when the lights come on. I'm ridin' Patterson if I had to choose an 'every down' RB.

    College Football Playoff

Replacing 7 Sr starters on Defense will be tough, and unlike anything that I can remember in recent years. Last year was the year to do something special, with a softer schedule. Iowa's D relies heavily on the LBs being in the right position, all the time. Higgins replaced Campbell in an...

    College Football Playoff

Yeah, ain't no way a 9-3 Iowa team gets serious playoff consideration.

    College Football Playoff

"One of the things Walter learned that led to his longevity was to avoid the hard hits. He knew when to duck down and not try to pile drive the defenders coming up to hit him." Yep, and he also never stayed on the ground very long...to eliminate the 'accidental' ankle, foot, and knee twisting...

    Gronowski

Heck, I'd rank Sullivan #9 on that list. What a top-heavy group...not much to cheer about after #8, and frankly, only the Top 4 could really be called exceptional. Agreed, Stanzi is a little higher on that list than I'd have him.

Iowa Should Run At Least One Flea Flicker Every Game - Here's Why?

Man, seeing Nick Bell running at the 4:25 mark warmed my cockles!
