Forget Bruce Pearl, Fran can be our very own Bruce Pearl. I like that he genuinely wanted the job, his uptempo style is appealing as well.

This guy will be for us what Pearl has been to Tennessee. We obviously couldn't do better but that may turn out to work in our favor. We have the money to keep this guy if he turns out to be the real deal.

Good news, we certainly don't need anyone from John Calipari's coaching tree.

Lavin + Iowa= A lot of losing and probation. This man massively underachieved with UCLA's resources at his disposal.

Smart man, he has a good thing going there at Northern Iowa. Probably doesn't want to make the same mistake his mentor Greg McDermott made.

The only people who want Lavin just look at his career record and assume he must have been a good coach at UCLA. The guy is pure garbage, my worst nightmare is that man being Iowa's next head basketball coach.

We're going to get back there but when we start winning in the tourney it won't shock the world. Love what UNI did but I don't want us to be giant killers, I want us to be the giants.

I wasn't trying to disrespect Jacobsen but after the Alford and Lickliter failures and watching Jacobsen's mentor Greg McDermott crash and burn at Iowa State I don't want this program going the mid-major route again. His team at UCLA were wildly inconsistent, they looked like they lacked competent coaching. He brought in some good talent to UCLA but that could easily be attributed to the UCLA brand than to Lavin. Frankly he should have never gotten that job anyway. He's been out of the game way too long to...

Auburn would be an interesting move for him, the West Division is way down now and he could be the guy to pull off a quick turnaround there.
