Hell, here's Iowa's average defense in the months of November-December against some truly horrible teams: 70.5 points per game. Unless you want to claim that the putrid November-December schedule is tougher than Iowa's February schedule, the defense has most certainly improved.

People in sports do this all the ******* time. Look at a snap-shot of a month and see if the team has improved or not. Guess what? Iowa's defense is giving up fewer points, and Iowa is winning more. Related? NOPE, NOT LIKELY, SINCE IOWAS DEFENSE IS STILL DEAD LAST, IT MEANS THAT THEY HAVENT...

Well, I just took out the Michigan State and Ohio State game: Iowa's D still gave up 75.6 points per game in January. Compare that with 67-68 per game given up in February. we're talking a 10% decrease in points allowed. If you think 10% isn't a significant #, then sir, you crazy.

Screw the media, screw ESPN. This isn't about them. This is about Iowa's students becoming part of the program again. They can criticize it all they want, because in the end, they don't matter. All that matters are the players, the coaches and the fan base finally getting on the same page...
