    Question For Ferentz Haters

Sir, I played sports all my life, including 5 years of collegiate football at a big boy level. There are certain players that have an intensity factor when they hit the field that elevates the play of those around them. If you are unaware of this phenomenon, I can't help you. And clearly...

    getting tired

I'm sure back in the early 2000's many fans of Iowa's opponents felt the same way about Iowa. Those Iowa teams were damn physical and beat people up. Face it, Iowa was over-matched physically by MSU and they knew it and took advantage of it. Their strengths were greater than Iowa's...

Miller: Athletes are ALREADY Getting Paid

These athletes have access to guaranteed loans (just as the rest of the student population. Read some of the points Doug Gottlieb makes on this…and he knows from the inside). If they want to buy extra pizzas and beer, put it on debt like so many students do. If they mismanage their monthly...

Ferentz suspended 1 game, university fined

Blubber (apt moniker) Check out the science - it's the repeated hits over time that neuro-scientists are finding that causes problems. The brain is not being allowed to heal, as even small collisions in practice, contribute to a cumulative effect over time. This science is one of the major...

For perspective: Alabama’s six poor seasons in the last 15

OUTofTown- Not sure how long you've had the 'bubblegum' head for Ferentz, but it sure made me spit out my coffee morning. Sadly, it is funny in a depressing sort of way.

Kirk Ferentz era All Star team vs. 2012-2013 BCS Alabama team

****** bag response, at best! This is a fan contributed sports thread not a journalistic, vetted research piece so if I missed a couple of players, F U. You are now appointed, 'editor at-large' for this site. I will be sure to notify Jon immediately. Moeaki is being used in the slot quite...

Kirk Ferentz era All Star team vs. 2012-2013 BCS Alabama team

Sorry, but I will take proven NFL starters and players any day of the week over highly rated high school recruits yet to be drafted. Not sure if you really understand the difference in talent between college and NFL. Claiming that Alabama will have all of their players drafted is overstating...

Kirk Ferentz era All Star team vs. 2012-2013 BCS Alabama team

Finally, a post with an injection of sanity. All-star Iowa would crush this Alabama team. Every single player on the Iowa squad was at least drafted, with the exception of WR (but don't forget Hinkel was money when you needed a big catch). Also, half the starters on this Alabama team...

The Hawkeyes lost 5 games by less than a TD in 2012.

They may have been within a touchdown in 5 games but two of their four wins were by 3 or less. Therefore, by your logic, they could just as easily been 2-10! Now that's BAD!!! Additionally, they were effectively dominated or blown out in 3 games. This is a measure of a program near the...

The Hawkeyes lost 5 games by less than a TD in 2012.

Actually, my Wisconsin friends and Nebraska friends are both unhappy with their seasons. Both teams lost big games this year, when each program felt like they could have reached a notch higher. Fans will be fans.

D Line Next year..........at least decent???

Things do no look good for next year on the D-llne. We can always hope someone has a 'JJ Watt' breakout year, like he did at Wisconsin, but that is a a rarity, to say the least. The D-line was slow, slow, slow this year. Iowa will be seeing even more athletic QBs next year than this year...

since it seems star do matter

Yeah, that's the problem, too many ready to play 4 star players with too much size, speed, and strength. WTF!

Are we now the only BCS school without a 4* commit?

Yippee! A toilet bowl to go to next year! Iowa now competes to be the best of the worst or the worst of the best. Neither ain't no good.

Greg Davis will be back in 2013

Athletic Directors typically have the power to 'kindly instruct' the head coach to make changes to staff. Barta lacks the balls to stand up to Kurt. Kurt lacks the balls to make gutsy decisions. Sally Mason has no balls. It is a gaggle of eunuchs running this circus!

Everyone keeps saying how there's all this buzz around the program...

And for the record...Pretty sure no one was talking to you. Well done, though, on the 'self-report'.

Bryce Miller: Lack of playmakers, not Ferentz, causing Hawkeyes’ woes

Section8- Can you please provide the statistical evidence that KF's offenses were consistently average to above average? What...in the BIG or nationally? Because you are wrong! Do you KF lovers have any idea what the rest of the nation thinks about KF and Iowa football at this point? Do...

    serious ?

Eyeballs glued to tv screens are damn important to the equation too. If I need to explain why, you clearly do not understand how the world works.

    No Guts

Ferentz has peaked. After 14 seasons, it is clearly over for him. But does he know it? Self-awareness is a very tough trait to maintain, especially when surrounded by sycophants (local media, coaching staff and AD). Even if KF stays, what superstars does Iowa have ready to break out...

Why Ferentz is a Great Coach

Thank you for posting the winning percentage on Big10 games. To me, this is the most important statistic of performance. OOC schedules have become a joke for most teams and particularly for Iowa. A true measure of a coach's performance is how they do against coaches and players that they see...
