    Tournament time in Iowa

Not rushing by any means the retirement of McCaffery or Bluder, but when the day comes there are two coaches which happen to have Drake ties that would be welcome replacements. Word has it that Jennie Baranczyk would like the Iowa job when Lisa retires ( Drake record 192-96 & Oklahoma 72-24 )...

    Tournament time in Iowa

I am a homer. I root for the Hawks, Drake and Iowa State. Iowa State is a lock for the NCAA. Hoping both Iowa and Drake get in. Drake split with Indian State during the season and hoping they knock them off today on CBS. Iowa desperately needs the Illinois game today or they may have to at...

    Bubble watch

You gotta have some luck along talent. Ralph Miller had an Iowa team in 1970 that was capable of winning it all. Got nicked by a team from Jacksonville with two 7 footers ( Artis Gilmore & Pembrook Burrows). Miller has a great team with John Johnson and "Downtown" Freddie Brown. Lute...

I think Lester presented himself well in first look

I for one am willing to give Tim Lester a chance. However, it is interesting that a possible OC candidate for Alabama is almost in our back yard. Kurtiss Riggs QB/Receiver Coach for Sioux Falls College for 4 years of which they won 3 National Titles Sioux Falls Storm ( professional indoor )...

It sounds Tim Lester is the guy.

One of the tests for Coach Lester is his recruiting prowess. The test is......can he bring Nick Brooks OT back into the fold for 2025. All of the negative comments on the Fan Sites probably is not helping the recruiting scenario in convincing a player like Brooks to change his mind. In all...

It sounds Tim Lester is the guy.

Glad to see that Tim Lester was not the Offensive Coordinator for Syracuse in 2006 when Norm Parker's Iowa Defense stopped the Syracuse Offense for 8 consecutive plays inside the 5 yard line. Often referred to as " THE STAND"

Is Tim Lester the Right Guy? Maybe. Maybe Not

Is there a time set for an introductory Press Conference?

It sounds Tim Lester is the guy.

Any chance we made an incorrect assumption...A different take.....Maybe..... So Kirk Ferentz knew he was hiring Tim Lester for OC. So he asks Lester about a WR coach possibility. Lester had hired Johns previously at Western Michigan ( and knew he was out of a job) & suggested him for WR coach...

    Tim Lester

A different take.....Maybe..... So Kirk Ferentz knew he was hiring Tim Lester for OC. So he asks Lester about a WR coach possibility. Lester had hired Johns previously at Western Michigan ( and knew he was out of a job) & suggested him for WR coach and Ferentz interviewed him while we all...

So is Kevin Johns the guy?

Lot's of questions? 1. Is it John's 2. Did John's turn it down 3. Is Kirk looking at someone else or more interviews 4. Is It John's & they are waiting to hire a WR coach & announce all at once 5. ETC.

    Hairball leaving Michigan

Betting Odds for the next Michigan Coach.......... Detroit Free Press 1. Michigan OC Sherrone Moore (-700) 2. Kansas coach Lance Leipold (+600) 3. LSU coach Brian Kelly (+700) 4. Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck (+1000) 5. Michigan DC Jesse Minter (+1100) 6. Iowa State coach Matt Campbell (+1200)...

    New OC

If Twitter is correct about Kirk flying to Ann Arbor....more likely to interview Moore. Michigan is more likely to hire a coach slightly younger, that if successful, would be there longer.

Iowa Targeting January for New OC

As times goes on we keep losing candidates. A few days ago it was reported Bill O'Brien to Ohio State and now there is a report of Tommy Rees to the Cleveland Browns. Oh Well.

Iowa Targeting January for New OC

Who ??? Joe Philbin Paul Chryst Bill O'Brien Josh McDaniel Joe Moorhead Jerry Kill Ryan Grubb Mystery Name

    HOW ABOUT JOE MOORHEAD???

Bill O'Brien may well be out of a job at the Patriots if Belichick is gone, unless they would hire him as the head coach. Currently the OC & QB coach and a friend of Kirk Ferentz. Likewise if he came, could be short term if he empowered the offense.

Iowa Targeting January for New OC

While I understand there is lots of speculation that the next OC could well be Philbin. There is another friend of coach Ferentz who may well be out of a job at the New England Patriots. Bill O'Brien would be a great hire as well.

    Candidates for the OC position

Lot of people bash Kirk Ferentz, but I well remember the losing years ( 60's & 70's)....People ran Tom Davis (BB) off more or less because he seldom won the Conference...but we went to the NCAA tournament most years....Ferentz is liable to own the record for the most BIG 10 wins if he...

    Candidates for the OC position

After reading the Bio on Matt Drinkall, he seems like a fit ( nice OC resume ) with lots of Iowa connections. ( Bettendorf, St. Ambrose, Hawks-student coach, Under former Iowa Asst Don Patterson at Western Ill. ) Could get excited if he chose to come home to the Hawkeyes
