    Floyd thread

Was Fleck playing for a moral victory when he called time out at the end of the 3rd quarter to kick a field goal to ruin the shutout? I kinda laughed to myself and said, "Yup, those 3 points are sure going to help." I took it as a passive aggressive move and an "FU" to Iowa to take the shutout...

    This and that....

I'm with you 100%. Some big games ahead of us. And we have to take one game at a time. Next is Oregon. Period. But definitely it's nice to have the optimism.

Kaden Wetjen tied former Iowa great Tim Dwight with his return TD against Minnesota

His acceleration is just ridiculous. On TV it's pretty wild but live and from a field vantage point, it's wild. But his vision is also very good. Even on jet sweeps, if he has space, his straight line speed is like a video game. He finds that one cut and hits it, he's off to the races. It's...

    Coaching carousel 2025

Probably should have added in "or coaches with less of D1 pedigree" Cignetti has done well but nothing at the Power 5 level. I think he coached at James Madison and Elon and IU (Indianapolis). While having success at those levels, he is actually a good example of a program going with a lesser...

    Fickle Fickell

I also don't think they enjoy physical rock fight type of games. That also plays into Iowa's hands. They want to go fast and use their speed. Iowa's methodical approach on offense with TOP, and a stingy defense that makes them play underneath and in front could frustrate them.....I hope. AND...

    Coaching carousel 2025

My curiosity will be will the trend to hire a big name coach begin to fade? With the advent of NIL and etc, will it be such a splash to hire a big name coach if you can just throw money at a program? Instead will they hire a young coach who is savvy and can recruit over a fella with measured...

    Gronowki's 4 interceptions this year

I will echo, ANY WAY we can at this point. I could care less about passing stats and etc. We score points and extend drives, that is what matters to me. Sure, much like has been said, at least showing some competency in the passing game will only help our running game and offense.

    Hawkeyes And The Playoff Picture

Honestly, Iowa can't look past any upcoming foe. I do not think we have shown we have that ability yet. It's fun to talk about, but we need to focus week to week and win. Period. It's also easy to look back that 2-3 plays separate us from being undefeated at this point. Easy and painful.

    Gronowki's 4 interceptions this year

Agreed. That is the biggest issue. Make the other pass plays. The misses and overthrows make the picks more glaring. But again, my hope is we eventually hit those big passes. The catch by Howard vs Rutgers was beautiful, and needed. Gronk has to show the opposing defense that he is capable of...

    3 Best CFB Stadium Experiences

You hear about Kinnick how the fans are on top of the players. Granted it's only 70,000 compared to other venues, but being so close, I'm sure it gets loud. Hoping it's equally loud this Saturday as it was last Saturday.

Oh to have a QB who can run

Exactly. Been a lot of drops on good passes by Gronk. The pick he threw against PSU looked like it was a good pass that was not hauled in as well. My hope is eventually those pass plays are made which only opens up the offense even more.

Oh to have a QB who can run

100%. As long as we are moving the chains, I really don't care. My fear is teams stacking the box, but I will say I believe our O line is prob one of the best in the country. Especially for the fact teams have done exactly that (stacking the box) and daring us to pass. I do think Lester has...

Oh to have a QB who can run

Agreed. Some of the O-lines were not good. Injuries and just poor play. An athletic quarterback can make an O-line even look better. He can buy time and move the pocket too. Guys like Deacon Hill and Spencer Petras were statues. That didn't help. With a mobile quarterback, it forces the hand...

    Hawkeyes And The Playoff Picture

I think every game here on out is a must win. I think we likely have to run the table to even be considered and not an impossible task but definitely a tall task. One game at a time. It definitely starts Saturday. Iowa is not going to sneak up on anyone after how tough we played Indiana. Every...

Updated Hawkeye NCAA Stats & Rankings

I know Gronk has his critics. And trust me, at times, I get frustrated to, but as mentioned, he is finding ways to make things happen. Eventually, (I hope) those throws will be made. Each week we have a few new wrinkles and we are making those plays. Beyond the idea of using his legs to make...

Oh to have a QB who can run

I'm with Fry and you both. Maybe it's all the above. What I do like is he is a leader. He has moxie. His leadership alone is invaluable. Hoping he can stay healthy and continue to make some plays for us.

    Matt Campbell & Job Openings.

I would really really hope Goetz would read the room and see that's a bad bad idea.

Oh to have a QB who can run

100% Even with a top tier surgeon and PT, I'm guessing it just takes time for the "feel" to come back. There is always the mental side of it too. A lot of Jackrabbit fans have stated they believe it's more a system flaw and blame his accuracy issues on Iowa and their system. Meh, maybe there's...

Oh to have a QB who can run

I think you nailed it. Gronk has that swagger. That confidence that is contagious. When you are in the huddle, he is your guy. The guy you look to to take charge and make a play or will make that play. Now, is he? I think he is. I think some of the gaffs early on are due to lack of practice due...
