    Who’s defense MVP? So far

Tough call. Lutmer and Graves standout but a lot of guys are playing better than last year. The DBs have all progressed.

    Fickle Fickell

If one game tilted the scales, he wasn't really a serious candidate to begin with. A lot of "experts" connected the dots because he went to Penn St and knew the AD but that was all speculation. Talked to a number of PSU folks in Iowa City a couple weeks ago and none of them named Rhule as their...

    How many Big 10 teams?

I think Iowa gets in if they sweep to 10-2 and Oregon falls to either USC or Washington. Then we'd be the clear #3 with quality wins against Oregon and USC. I don't see Michigan beating tOSU.

4-star QB decommits from Boise State after Iowa football visit

Yes. That said, you run the offense very differently with a guy who can RPO like MG than you would a Stanley or Petras. Maybe that's why Hecklinski jumped Brown on the depth chart. He fits what Lester is trying to do.

4-star QB decommits from Boise State after Iowa football visit

This kid sounds talented but doesn't seem to fit the mold that Lester is moving toward. If Brown transfers that leaves us with 3 QBs 5'11" 188 6'1" 197 6'1" 218 Not the big pocket passer types. @Zstatman at 6'5" he'd be much taller than Gronowski. He's 6'2"

    How many Big 10 teams?

Some are placing way too much emphasis on how the good team you lost to is. BEAT THEM and it's a non-issue. The ISU game has very little bearing on Iowa's playoff chances. We have to win out which would give us wins against Oregon and USC. That'll get the Hawks in

    Latest Iowa Stats

Agree for the most part, but Mark has been slow on his reads. A number of those incompletions could have been good had he thrown the ball earlier

    Gronowki's 4 interceptions this year

The difference in speed isn't that great. He played on two Championship teams in FCS so he's faced a lot of good competition and athletes

    Latest Iowa Stats

Yes and No, especially on the "doesn't need to". There's a reason we haven't been able to beat any really good teams for years. A great D and special teams can only take you so far. 8 wins/yr, Yes. Big wins, you need a little more. We did it with Stanley, Beathard and others before. Why not now?

    Gronowki's 4 interceptions this year

TD/INT is a key stat. MG is 3/4. Not good. He throws some nice balls but is often late with his decisions.

    To defer or not??

Yes they do. But that doesn't prove that receiving the ball is the reason for it.

    Latest Iowa Stats

Just for yucks I looked it up. 134 teams in FBS. #67 is Stanford with an average of 229 yards/game. (Yes, I know that's the "median" not the "mean" but it's what was available). Close enough So "average" would be 229 yard/game
