In my dream world, I am wishing that Kirk has enough integrity for himself and for the program to sit down with Gary and reach a mutual agreement to walk away. The flames are too strong at this point to come back for another season. I struggle because I like Kirk as a person and he is as genuine...

Short list that AD's supposedly have

I wouldn't trust Gary to make a grocery list.

    Our Next Offensive Coordinator

Kirk already cleaned out his staff and that has been a big flop. The problem is any coordinator who comes to Iowa will have Kirk's touch on things. So honestly, I don't think it matters at this point. Just my two cents.

    It feels over...

Spot on. You could really see the difference in athletic ability between us and Tennessee. Our guys looked smaller and slower. This is a roster littered with too many walkons and too many MAC-type players. Yesterday it showed... Boy did it.

    We need to..

Barta will keep his job as long as Kirk allows him to... :)

    Barta just doesn't get it.....

Yeah this quote stood out to me. Sure, the players are behind the coach. And of course the coaches support one another. But what Barta fails to realize is this fan base is no longer behind the program. I have lost any respect I had for Barta. Iowa football is the Titanic and Gary and Kirk are...

Post here is you think next year gets people back on the bandwagon

As a diehard of 35 years I am not off the Iowa bandwagon but I am off the Kirk bandwagon. For me, it's over.

Could Barta Structure a "Soft Landing" for Coach Ferentz?

The "wishful thinking" me would hope Kirk would realize he has lost his step and he can no longer right the ship. That he and Gary would reach an agreement that lets Kirk ride off into the sunset. That Kirk has enough integrity to realize it's time to move on. Anyway, that's my dream scenario. :)

Someone sell me on reasons to watch 15' Iowa football.

As a diehard of 35 years... I can honestly say there is nothing to sell. In past years you could always look forward to having a veteran team returning.... Or exciting schedule... Or competing for a NY bowl.... Now... There is nothing to sell. We know what the product is... It's been the same...

Do Iowa students have it in them...

Student interest is always a good measure of where your program is at. In BBall the student interest declined to unheard of levels. And the same is happening to football. Students have plenty of other things to do on a Saturday. And when they stop investing in an affordable season ticket at...

    It feels over...

The time for a change is now. 35 years as a Hawk fan and, besides the final year of the Fry regime, this is the most disconnected I have ever felt about Iowa football. No more excuses. There are NONE. Cut your losses Gary and let's move forward. Next year will be a duplication of this year...

    Next year

How sad is it that I don't even care!? :)

    getting a new coach

I would like a coach with some fire. Someone who is engaging. Someone who has that attitude that we WILL expect to compete with the big boys. That we will go after top recruits. Someone who finally rids of the "lil 'ol Iowa" mindset.

My take on these answeres from the KF presser.

Kirk seems to think he can simply remain in the bubble that is Fort Kinnick. That he doesn't owe the media or fans any answers regarding the state of the program. You can't operate like that in today's world. You need to be held accountable for your performance. Kirk has always gotten a free...

Why the Ferentz Era is at an end

Article was spot on. There are no more excuses. No more "wait until next year," no more "lack of execution," and no more "that's football." Its time for a change at the University of Iowa. And that change is NOW. Not next year. The football program will only continue to digress and it will...

    Willies Gone....again

His 3-yard outs were a thing of beauty ... and will be sorely missed. :)

We just lost a recruit to who?

Maybe the recruit felt his 3-yard out patterns were better served elsewhere ...

More bowl game apathy than ever before?

As a fan of 35 years I can freely admit this is the least interested I have been in an Iowa bowl game - by far. The 7-5 record ... just a major disappointing season.

My visit with a head coach

Good read. Liked the Q&A about how kids have changed.
