"IF" this is indeed Kirk's swan song, who do you want?

........ again, the conference, the $$$ and the chance to make the College Football Playoffs. Those are the reasons. I'm sure he genuinely like Iowa St, the school and the football program. I truly feel he does, but the BIG 12 conference is not the SEC or BIG. Maybe he's fine with that and feels...

"IF" this is indeed Kirk's swan song, who do you want?

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. A man of integrity and success at Iowa St. He's from Ohio so I feel he's always wanted to coach in the BIG. Day at Ohio St. seems to be there for a while and ND seems to be fine with their current coach. They may not have even bit on him at this point anyway...

TBO, he doesn't even excite me at Iowa. Seriously, what has he really done after leaving Wisky. Pretty mediocre if you ask me.

"IF" this is indeed Kirk's swan song, who do you want?

Lol thinking of the stir in this state if Matt Campbell was offered and took it to get out of the BIG 12. This is why the SEC and BIG 10 should end up having the best coaches in years to come along with the best players. $$$$ talks and if private equity is coming, look out. I remember when the...

"IF" this is indeed Kirk's swan song, who do you want?

He may not be interested in being a HC, but I think he'd be a great HC. Players respect him, coaches respect him and he seems to be a perfectionist with his defenses. He'd also be my top pick on the staff followed by Lavar. But, he ain't gunna be a head coach, unfortunately.

Here's my take. With Kirk's age and how he is so emotional after the recent games, what I feel is going on is that he may have mentioned to Beth he is interested in retiring and in doing so may have triggered Beth or the act of pursuing/reaching out to a highly regarded coach. This only makes...

Iowa is closer to Purdue than they are to Ohio St.

Urban Meyer. He's always respected KF and Iowa and he knows Iowa has a loooooong leash for coaches. Less stress.

    Hey Fry, an IHSAA update!

Now that I think about it, I don't think they really had specialized "turf shoes" for that old carpet astroturf. It's completely different from the specialized turf they have today which is the most similar to grass.

    Hey Fry, an IHSAA update!

Our team would play one game in the dome every year. This was the old astroturf. We were advised to wear our basketball shoes if we had them for the upcoming b-ball season. Not sure if the other players would get basketball shoes or what but wearing b-ball shoes as everyday shoes was popular...

So... what Bowl Game is most likely

You need to be the Czar of college football, my friend! This is spectacular.

So... what Bowl Game is most likely

Would never happen, but with all the players opting out, it would be interesting to have teams showcase and play the younger players coming thru the program, like the redshirts, & sophs. That would be interesting to watch and the players would want to play. Also, they would have a benefit for...

Meet the twin brothers behind the popular 'ANF Podcast' about Iowa football

I'm curious to know what football background they have but they sure do seem to know their X's & O's. They break it down like Urban Meyer on Fox.

Will Iowa ever have a QB that can throw

    but dont brake

    Labas vs Roberson

Yea, baffling how they chose to go with a completely non-mobile QB prone to throwing INT's & fumbling every game. Ya got to wonder!!

    Indiana and Oregon

Iowa is there. They are literally 3 plays and 10 pts away from being right there.
