The good thing about this west coast game is that it's an afternoon game. If I remember correctly, most of the struggles have been night games, or at least in the case of the Rose Bowl, late afternoon games.
You must not watch any of his interviews or his call-in show with Dolph. He in no way sounds or looks like he's ready to retire. I'd give it 3-4 more years before he starts actually thinking about it.
You've probably made your stance clear in the past, but I haven't been on this site for a while. What is your problem with Seth Wallace? I don't have an opinion either way.
Bowl games may be irrelevant in the big picture, but the extra practices, visibility, and ability to give the younger players practice time is very worthwhile. The biggest bonus is that it's another chance to watch Hawkeye football, one of my favorite things in the world. If you don't enjoy...
Gronowski rarely gets more than a yard on sneaks. Stanley regularly got 3-4 yards, sometimes more. There's no comparison. Hating Brian Ferentz isn't a reason to disrespect Stanley.
Overrated? If Settles hadn't injured his back as a Sophomore IMO he would have been All-American by the time he left. He had some unreal moves around the basket, could shoot the mid-range jumper, and rebounded like a maniac.
I didn't get that from his commentary. But then we had to listen to Jimmy Jackson fawn over the Buckeyes a couple of weeks ago, so even if Settles was a bit of a homer it paled in comparison.
I went to a Vikings game at the dome a few years back when the high temp was -5. If you stood outside tailgating longer than five minutes, your beer turned to slush. Damn it was nice watching that game indoors!
Are you talking about Gavin Williams or Kaleb Johnson? It seems to me that Kaleb's two long runs were pretty important, especially the first one where he refused to be tackled.
No Petras hasn't grown. But that is not what I'm talking about. I hear that regression crap from a guy I work with all the time. It's BS.
Stanley improved every year. Stanzi improved every year. Ruddock improved every year. Maybe you don't think players being injured is an excuse, but that's...
I guess you haven't figured out yet that he didn't know the video he made was directed at Brian Ferentz. There's one from McCaffrey also, and you know he wouldn't have done it if he knew what it was about. Those videos were from Cameo, and they just give them a script and they read or ad lib...
O-line? The O-line in 2007 was the worst in memory. I felt sorry for Christensen that year, there would be a defender in his face immediately after the snap. I think he lost all confidence. The same thing may have happened to Petras.
