Mel knows more about the whole draft class, but unless someone is a top prospect I would bet that many of the people on here know more about a guy they've been watching for the past 3-4 years than Mel does. And, for the record, his family doesn't think much of this new assessment.

I think your point is more accurately stated that the officials are more likely to be aware of other rules/guidelines that affect the call, because the rules themselves are not hard to understand, nor is it hard to understand when multiple rules apply. What is hard, as you stated, is being aware...
