Was It Just Me? Anybody Else Notice?

I wish we could have kept Dix, but I think losing Freeman was addition by subtraction.

    KF retiring?

    Over KF's entire tenure, average wins per season (2020 wins are prorated): OSU --> 10.9 Wisc --> 8.9 Mich --> 8.5 PSU --> 8.4 Iowa --> 7.9 MSU --> 7.3 Over the last 10 years: OSU --> 11.9 Mich --> 9.8 PSU --> 9.4 Iowa --> 9.2 Wis --> 8.6 MSU --> 6.7 Best 3-year stretch over the last 10: Mich...

    Who’s defense MVP? So far

Not MVP, but we have gotten way more than expected out of the DT platoon of Pace/Hawthorne. That position eating blocks is absolutely critical for the success of the D, and those 2 portal pickups have been great. And Hawthorne has 2 more years left!

    Who’s defense MVP? So far

I don't think anyone has even mentioned Entringer, who has also been nails. 4th down stop vs. IU 3rd and goal stop vs. PSU

Is Oregon Going To Take Iowa Seriously?

I will give you a counterpoint. I played football in the old IIAC, and we played Upper Iowa U one year in some dicey weather (upper 20s, windy, light snow). A large proportion of their players, and almost all of their skill position players, were from Florida, Texas, California, Hawaii, or...

    KF retiring?

Follow the Bluder model...after the season (preferably an AMAZING season), set someone on your staff up as the heir apparent, and ride off into the sunset. We just need to take care of the "amazing season" part, and the rest will write itself.

    KF retiring?

My guess is the OP heard some scuttlebutt, and he just popped up to see if anyone else caught wind of it. Nothing the guy (or gal) should get crucified for, that is what message boards are for.

Jenica Lewis has named her top five colleges.

For whatever reason, Lewis has never seemed that into Iowa...maybe she just wants to leave the state, which I totally get. I would be much more excited about Bjorn and her dunks...hopefully that one comes through!

Jenica Lewis has named her top five colleges.

I should clarify...Milkey indicated ND got a big recruiting commitment. The commitment being Lewis was speculation, I guess.

Jenica Lewis has named her top five colleges.

My wife follows Skim Milkey on twitter, and they are pretty much 100% accurate on recruiting predictions. Just today, they predicted Lewis to ND.

4-star QB decommits from Boise State after Iowa football visit

If we had to stack them up side by side, Phil > Norm, right? It is kind of like a HF vs. KF comparison, they are both great, hard to pick. But gun to my head, I think HF > KF and Phil > Norm.

4-star QB decommits from Boise State after Iowa football visit

No idea if Hecklinski is the real deal, but regarding QB height, here is the distribution of heights for the NCAA QB among the top 50 in QBR: The most common QB heights are 6'2" - 6'3"...you are much more likely to find a successful QB who is under 6'2" (18 instances among the top 50) than you...

    Oregon 6.5 point favorite

Counterpoint...sometimes we have a special season when things just come together. Could this be it? We are due, it hasn't happened in a decade.

Iowa overwhelms Ashland in decisive exhibition victory; Partial Game Video

After watching the highlights again, reading Jenson's quotes, thinking a little more...I am not sure both Rodriguez and Deal will be in the starting lineup. It sounds like Rodriguez has been working hard, but has been a bit slow to get acclimated with a defensive and offensive system. Jenson...

Iowa overwhelms Ashland in decisive exhibition victory; Partial Game Video

While distributing the minutes is going to be a major challenge, the versatility is off the charts. We could realistically go out there with Hays, Heiden, Stuelke, Rodriguez, Deal, and try to pound opponents with size (this is far-fetched, but not insane). Even keeping Rodriguez at the 3 and...

Iowa overwhelms Ashland in decisive exhibition victory; Partial Game Video

McCabe and Feuerbach started, and they are both valuable members of the team, I am glad we have them. But they are not long for the starting lineup. Rodriguez will be the 3, and I think Deal will start in the backcourt alongside Chit-Chat. McCabe's one elite skill is critical for this team, so...
