Not sure what to think about Nebraska. I took a look at their remaining schedule, and I could see them getting to 8 or 9 wins, or I could see them cratering.
Football-Followed the program closely since the Rose Bowl season of ‘81. Still remember the pic in the Quad City Times sports section after the 10-7 upset of Nebraska. As long as they are playing big boy football I’m in…I’m following closely.
MBB- My first true sports love that 79-80 final...
Tangible? Maybe or maybe not. I do know if the teams were sold owners would get waaay more than what they paid for them. I could easily think of at least 4 teams that would get a 9 digit number if sold today.
TV ratings, attendance are all up. Recent media rights deal will give the league 200...
Each WNBA team are being valued anywhere from 100 to 200 million dollars, and the players receive 9% of the revenue.
Like you guys I have no idea what the magic number should be. 15%? 30%? 50%? No clue what percentage makes sense.
When Keegan was drafted I said he would play 10+ years and make 200-300 million dollars in his career. I just didn’t know where his ceiling would be as a player. I still don’t know.
The NBA just negotiated a 76 billion dollar media rights deal and the players get 50%of the revenue. So you give a guy averaging 14/4 a 140 million dollar extension. That’s not a dig on Keegan…you gotta give it to somebody.
Day has it rolling at tOSU. I have a hard time seeing that fall apart anytime soon. Unless Day has interest in the NFL…he is staying put in Columbus.
As I stated before, keep an eye on Sherrone Moore and Michigan. IMO, the Michigan job will come open before Ohio St. will.
If Kirk is the head coach in 2026 I am sticking by what I said...Brown or Hecklinski will be the starting quarterback. I don’t know if they can land a Luke Altmyer type or even someone like Athan Kaliamanis.
I have no facts or inside info, just going off what everyone else reported…The USC job was Matt Campbell’s if he wanted it. Hard to believe, but they “settled” for Lincoln Riley.
Keep an eye on Michigan and Sherrone Moore. That job will not pop open this year, but if you are a betting man… I would say it will come open in the next year or two.
As for Iowa, do you want a in-house hire(Lester, Wallace, Woods) or an “outsider”?
I would bet Hecklinski or Brown will be the starter in 2026 if Kirk is the head coach. Kirk and Lester have both publicly stated that they don’t want to get a starting quarterback out of the portal every year. They want in-house development for a potential starter. Unless somebody falls into...
Meh. I did wonder why they rushed the field beating Iowa St. I realize this isn’t 1992 anymore, and ISU isn’t dogshit, but why are you rushing the field after beating the 22nd rank opponent at your crib?
OSU
Michigan
Notre Dame
Penn St.
When those jobs come open, Campbell and Cig are having serious conversations in their inner circle, in terms of pursuing them or not. This isn’t Matt Campbell dismissing USC, when the PSU AD starts kicking the tires both are going to think long and hard about it.
Luke Fickell is 52.
James Franklin is 53.
These guys are hyper-competitive people and the failure eats at you. Having money doesn’t always fix that…see Bill Belichick. Both are just young enough where they might be willing to reset as coordinators and make one more run to be a head coach in...
