Brosmer was pretty good for MN this year.

Kaleb Johnson Declares for NFL Draft

I would guess the change of tune had more to do with the emotions following a big win, versus being able to consider a dilemma in the cold, hard light of day. You are probably more likely to want to marry a girl immediately after orgasm than you are the next day when she is brushing her teeth...

Kaleb Johnson Declares for NFL Draft

I don't think there is such a thing as a 1st-round lock RB, anymore. It is the most fungible position in the NFL, teams just don't value it highly enough to use a 1st round pick when the value is so much higher for QB, OT, Edge, WR, and CB. https://www.drafthistory.com/index.php/positions/rb...

If Kirk retired who would you want?

Would you rather have a high-level coordinator from P4 program (e.g. Grubb), or an experienced HC from a lower-level who has had success (best case scenario: Cignetti from Indiana)? I kind of like the experienced HC route. I think there are things unique to the HC role that can only be learned...

Are You Glad the Football Season is Over?

I switched over to women's BB mode after the UCLA game. There is nothing better than a college FB Saturday when your team is relevant and playing well. But there is little more frustrating than investing in the time required to watch a FB game (or Heaven forbid, attend a game) and then coming...

    Iowa, Nebraska Kicked Off Nonsense

Not to get too high-horsey, but we have quickly morphed into a society where everything is for show. You go on vacation and are as invested in the photos you post on social media as you are in the experience you are having with your family (using the "royal you" here, I am certainly not immune)...

    JuJU Watkins chasing CC

They carry themselves very differently (Clark more of the showperson, more demonstrative; Watkins more reserved, almost like a Tim Duncan-personality with a Dwyane Wade game). But at their core, they seem pretty similar (fanatical competitors, just love ball more than anything else).

    JuJU Watkins chasing CC

I think it is very unlikely that JuJu breaks the record, for all of the reasons I laid out here: https://forum.hawkeyenation.com/threads/couple-other-coaches-saying-bueckers-better-than-clark.97298/post-2120088 We can already see the biggest one coming into play this season...USC was heavily...

    JuJU Watkins chasing CC

One of the great things about cheering for the women's BB team is they pretty much always meet or beat season expectations. And I would say globally, that 2021-2022 season exceeded expectations (earned a #2 seed, won the B1G tournament). But that is the only season I can recall where the final...

    Drake

O'Grady has been great, but I would rather see her at 25 minutes per game than the 33 she played vs. Drake. You can see her effectiveness wane as the fatigue builds...the most obvious manifestation being she simply falls down a lot as she gets tired, leading to unnecessary fouls and turnovers...

    JuJU Watkins chasing CC

I think the team learned a lot from that game that helped them over the next 2 runs to the championship, though. I was at that Creighton game, it sucked so hard. Iowa was better, but they weren't yet ready for the moment.

    JuJU Watkins chasing CC

Nope...I don't know if she has ever missed a game, HS through WNBA. Kind of a freak from a durability standpoint.

The health of the people in our country

I have not read that book, but Doritos are absolutely crack to me. I am not sure there is a single thing in life that gives me more pleasure than throwing a handful of Doritos in my mouth, to the extent that it disturbs me even as I am stuffing my face. I have to keep them out of the house.

The health of the people in our country

Democrative Colorado Gov Jared Polis on the potential RFK, Jr. appt as Sec of HHS: Can't say that I share his excitement, simply because I don't believe the GOP wants to take on big Pharma or big Ag, that would be quite an about-face. But I wouldn't mind being wrong, in this case. Doesn't...

The health of the people in our country

I think there is some consensus on this issue of food-system quality across the political spectrum, maybe it can go somewhere.

Also never partook, nor have I ever been drunk (have maybe consumed a grand total of 5 alcoholic beverages spread across my 47 years). I had an older cousin who went into AA when I was in 7th grade, it really scared me away from ever considering alcohol and the like.

The health of the people in our country

No, as @Glass1/2fullguy stated, it is surface level stuff. Basically, hyper-palatability being the issue, which is not necessarily the same as ultra-processed. Being able to combine starch/sugar + fat + salt very cheaply, and then passing it along to the consumer cheaply. If our food system is...

@PCHawk , I know you say you cannot view the gift articles I share (perhaps you need to sign up but not pay?), but anyhow, here is a good piece about the problems with our food environment: https://wapo.st/4feObAl I agree with you that RFK, Jr.'s idea to make this a priority is important. My...

    The Upside Down

In related news...it appears Joey Labas has been benched in favor of a freshman QB at Central Michigan.
