Need to stick with an 8 man rotation down the stretch

In the last 2 games, Oglewinkel has played a combined 12 minutes while Jok has played more minutes than any other games during his short career here at Iowa. We have won by a combined 34 points. Coincidence or statistically irrelevant?

McCaffery says Adam Woodbury won't use opening-tip tactic anymore

Sad when a 7' player with a 6' wingspan has difficulty winning the tip.

More of Dickerson. Less of Clemons.

It was meant to be 30 not 35. See the 10 minutes for the backup as reference.

More of Dickerson. Less of Clemons.

Mike G is our best option. Seeing 35+ from a starting PG is the norm and I'm not sure why we don't follow the norm. 10 from your backup is acceptable.

More of Dickerson. Less of Clemons.

Add to the list: More olaseni, less woody More anyone, less oglesby

    somebody please f'ing explain why

Joks defense is not nearly as bad as some of you want to make it out to be. Is he a defensive stopper? Hell no. But what he offers on the offensive side of the ball, and his length, more than offset his lack of desire on D. Jok averages fewer minutes but more points, more rebounds, more...

I love to see my favorite Hawk play tonight!

The NBA future of Oglesby is very bright. Nobody is better than going 0fer than him so if Devyn can do it, he certainly can too.

    another question

Up 2 with 3 seconds to play. Minny has the inbounds and needs points to tie or win. Your 5 on the floor are Gesell - check White - check Olaseni - check Clemmons - check Oglesby - really? So the guy that has length and stats that are off the charts tonight is sitting in the bench...

    somebody please f'ing explain why

    1. Oglesby plays 2. Why in the hell Gesell was on the bench for so long?

Clemmons needs to shot more, even if he misses

Our guards are not good. Considering we truly only play a two at a time, it's difficult to understand why this position is lacking talent. Gesell can hold his own but he's not a shooting guard. Oglewinkel is just flat out bad. Jok has skills but the kid is still playing like he is in his...

    Congratulations to the great Houdini

My bad on the use of the word golden in the idiom. It should have been corrected to "you laid another egg." without the word golden. It still doesn't change the meaning of the thread. WinOne: Our guard play in general wasn't great but when you do go back and watch this game you will need...

    Congratulations to the great Houdini

After what could arguably be called one of your best games at Iowa, you laid another golden egg.

And for some inexplicable reason oglewinkel is back in the game? Turnover. How much more do you need to see with this guy?

    Nubby Nebby Game Thread

Oglewinkel with a quick 3 (for nebby) and Fran finally has the sense to pull him quickly. Coach is growing.

    Best case, worst case

Best case: Ferentz is told he's done and Ferentz resigns with a minimal buyout Worst case: Ferentz is fired There is no middle ground on this one. Showing up and playing against a mediocre (at best) Tennessee team completely unprepared after the season(s) we've had is inexcusable. The...

We are brutally behind in BIG recruiting

Illinois has been landing 4* recruits for as long as I can remember. In fact, they've landed 10 four* recruits in the past 4 years. Illinois is 10-3 this season, NIT last year, 3rd round loss 2 years ago, no tourney 3 years ago, 3rd round loss 4 years ago. Stars do not equal results. fOSU is...

    OOTH: Dickerson not starting explanation-

This season isn't remotely over and to think otherwise is asinine. We simply need to get better guard play. You do that by: 1) Sitting Oglesby. 2) Getting a shooter on the floor that can stretch the D just a little bit. Your choices are pretty slim at SG. You have Oglesby...see #1 above...
