DL "too good to be true"

Among all the obvious reasons to be sad that Hayden Fry isn't still with us is I think he woulda gotten such a kick out of seeing Eppys family doing so well. He always had such a soft spot for 'Repeat' as he called him. He woulda been those boys biggest fans all 3 of em. I think the daughter...

DL "too good to be true"

Iowa has tended to F with people on those. I wouldn't trust it. I thought I'd seen that the Bills had AJ listed at 6'6 and I've seen pics of those two standing next to each other and they are within an inch of each other if not eye to eye. I'd guess that both are closer to being between 6'4 and...

DL "too good to be true"

I heard he was running with the 2s saturday... So that'll put him in the rotation to play quite a bit. Which was pretty much what his big bro did too. With as deep and good as the DE spots seem to be for him to be cracking that 2 deep already pretty much just confirms how ridiculously talented...

So who's all nicked up so far?

Agree... Even with everyone healthy that spot has question marks. Hall being out for any length of time isn't good. So we have about 3 wks to get guys healthy. We really need the DBs and Oline to stay healthy. We have depth all over the place everywhere else. More so then those anyway

    Higgins!!!

Yeah he had 3 or 4 tackles that pick and that knock down you mentioned. Made an impact pretty much every possession he was out there. Typical Higgins being Higgins out there

    Higgins!!!

Dude played quite a bit last night for Baltimore and had multiple big plays including an interception where he dropped back in zone and made a great play on the ball where he had to leap for it. He's going to be on an NFL roster the guy is just a football player. That was fun to see

So who's all nicked up so far?

The names I've heard on a pod so far is Stephens and Pittman. I don't know to what extent at all. Just that they've been missing time. Has anyone else heard more about them or anyone else so far? Fort Kinnick is pretty tough to crack so I'll assume we'll learn more about that Saturday.

    Swing and Miss............... yah think???

Must be clickbait. He left on ND too. Arguably the actual top 2 TE U schools he didn't even have in top 5. Makes one wonder where on the list he'd have them... But to me I bet it's just a lazy oversight. I've never heard of the guy before and now I know why

Who will be starting running back

Both of those are crazy good YPC avgs. Anything 4.4 or above is great. Limited touches or not that's getting it done and I look forward to how they do. I think the running game should be above avg again. I don't see why not.

    Gronowski

Hmm... I could see flipping Stanley and Chandler. The 2-4 guys I could see shuffled up any kind of other way too. The 7-14 guys are pretty much dead on. I was so disappointed with how bad JC ended up being with all the hype he had with that class he came in with.

    Caden Buhr

There's no way of predicting how HS kickers are gonna do. The pressure and bright lights of D1 ball is something you can't gauge until they go out there. Sometimes kickers just slump for whatever reasons. It's nice to get a guy with a big leg capable of 55ish but as far as accuracy goes I damn...

    College Football Playoff

Very very much so. They'll be situations where on big 3rd downs in the 4th q of games where obviously we'd want to see him do whatever it takes to get the 1st. But if we lose him to a shoulder injury in the 1st q of week 2 to ISU cause on a 2nd and 8 he's trying to run over a LB it just wouldn't...

Who will be starting running back

KM unless he gets hurt in practice between now and day 1. I don't see that changing otherwise. Now how they dibby up the reps behind him is up in the air. I could see TJW playing more and Patterson wishing he'd have transferred out. I could see it the other way around and Patterson getting more...

Iowa Should Run At Least One Flea Flicker Every Game - Here's Why?

That was Bradas thoughts on it. Kluver said that they went to the LOS with plays called but when the defense lined up they'd call it off or call a TO. He thinks that unless the D is showing the exact kind of look that they'd seen on film that they wouldn't run it. Brada pushed back on that some...

Iowa Should Run At Least One Flea Flicker Every Game - Here's Why?

Saw a pod with Kluver and Brada talking about how Iowa used to run trick plays quite a bit from special teams. They'd bust one out not necessarily every week but multiple times a season but now they don't. When's the last time we ran anything exotic? I'm struggling to remember. I'd have thought...

Iowa Should Run At Least One Flea Flicker Every Game - Here's Why?

For my money it's situationally running those flea flickers is what makes them work easier. As an OC here's how I'd like to run those. You do it right after having a successful running play of say 10 plus yards. Then you don't necessarily hurry up to the LOS but you don't let the defense sub by...

    Kirk says offense is ready.........

Yup... I agree this seasons ceiling will be much clearer after that game. Win it and everything is on the table. Lose it and making the playoffs seems like an uphill battle. I don't think a 9-3 Iowa team can make it. And losing to ISU makes being that tough to do. Leaves em with no margin for error.

    Top 5 career 3 point % shooters

How the guys who shoot a lot of 3s at a high volume for 35% plus will be the deciding factors on how well team does. I suspect Stirtz, Hausen and Folgueras will shoot the most. The rest being threats from out there allowing for the floor to be spaced will only open everything else up for Stirtz...

    Kirk says offense is ready.........

The thing about the offense going into this yr is the excuses are gone. They landed a QB they wanted. They even landed a couple transfer QBs to back him up they like. If they can shore up the LT spot the Oline should be better then last yr and they were dang good last yr. RB room is deep and...

    Noah Fant Released

FL has no state taxes either. I'm sure his agent factors in that part of it all too. Being able to make a little less but keep more of it is an advantage for going after FAs for those teams.
