HOF removes 60% win threshold for HCs

Agreed. HOF voters are capable of looking at nuance and a body of work to determine if a coach is worthy of HOF without an artificial percentage.

Iowa to play Bucknell in the

Its a first year coach with a completely revamped roster. A light non-con seems prudent. Fran never scheduled a tough non-con. Moving a game to Des Moines is at least something different, and might avoid seeing another half-full Carver for at least one game.

HOF removes 60% win threshold for HCs

Surprised the article does not mention KF as he is right near that line and is the most tenured coach in college football. With this change, I think KF is now a shoe in for the HOF when he hangs them up...

    Kirks biggest weakness.........

I have argued in other threads that a big reason Iowa's defense was so good was its offense was so bad. Meaning, opposing OCs knew they only needed to score 17 points to beat Iowa, and Iowa's offense was so bad they could not score 2 touchdowns without help. So, opposing offenses were ultra...

    Kirks biggest weakness.........

That was a real cracker jack of an article. KF's weakness is his approach to offense? No! Really? Yawn. National click bait that Zain drafted on the toilet. I agree with fnntn that KF had a blindspot for his dopey kid, but that was purged out and I believe that KF has genuinely turned a...

    Just wondering how………

I have to believe the collectives are smart enough to have eligibility clauses. I would also have performance and participation clauses. I would love to see bonuses for playing on bowl games.

the 25 best CFB programs of the 2000s

This seems about right to me. I would generally describe Iowa under KF as a Top 25 program. If we cherry pick just the last decade the number gets even better.

Poor Hawks had to wear their black unis for some reason. Brutal. Almost as brutal as Iowa's on field performance that day!!! KF was a smidge less grey back then. :)

Garza Places Above MJ in Points Per Minute

Nope. This may be the first flaw that MJ ever exhibited. Not believing that basketball stopped being interesting and began to regress as a human skill the day MJ retired is sheer madness. Seriously, the game is not as compelling to watch as it was 30 years ago. The ratings support that...

    Iose...BOOM!!!

Agreed. We should be stacked at DE. Hopefully, the reports out of spring camp that the DT group is coming along are accurate. A summer of lifting and good weight gains will assist that group.

    Just wondering how………

There has been no changes to the NCAA academic requirements or standards for eligibility that I know of. As far as I know, these kids have to keep going to class and maintain a minimum GPA to stay eligible. Its really just the payment stuff that has changed. Technically, if a booster gave a...

I was at that Kstate game in Arrowhead in 2000. Hottest F'ing day in the history of football. People were passing out in the stands.

Ol’ KF Has Rebuilt the “O”

Think of the QB room he had last year versus the one he has this year. Granted, both sets were brand new to his system, but I have far more faith in the Top 3 guys this year compared to last year. And, the other 10 starters on offense are all in their second year of the system. We should see...

    Potenial Big Ten-SEC schedule Alliance

I don't know. Sure, Wisconsin got whooped, but they got national exposure and I bet the party leading up to the game in Madison was epic. There are football reasons to play that game. I bet you the next week after that game when they played Minnesota or whoever, they were not intimidated or...

    Potenial Big Ten-SEC schedule Alliance

That's a great point. The conference is so big and spread out now, we fans are getting a lot of variety in who we play with a lot of cool venues. I'd still like to see more games between the Big 10 and SEC. Good on good.

Guess it worked for Indiana last year. I get the point that its the smart path for mid or lower level major conference teams. I guess my point is that I don't think the conferences or commissioner or whomever is going to ultimately regulate college football, should let them. I don't think it...

    BMC Pulls in another guard

The roster is almost fully formed. The kid should know who is in front of him and what his role will likely be. I like that he is coming to a bigger school to compete for minutes. Hungry kid. I like it.

I don't mind cupcakes that much either. A win is a win. It also helps spread the wealth as those games cover the football budget for the visiting team so they can continue to field a team. Although when we barely sneak by South Dakota State it is troublesome.... My problem is that everyone...

    BMC Pulls in another guard

Seems like a good depth and developmental piece for Ben. Decent stats as a freshmen in a lower tier league. Should be able to provide some bench minutes right away. Really just missing a back-up big at this point. I like this roster.
