They have not been involved with Harrah and I think you are on the right track. Outside of Peterson there really is not any sure things in this class as far as 197 types. You may see them go after a couple of late bloomers or JUCO route if they get the right fit.

Topher has not confirmed anything and has refused to talk on the record about it. I have no idea who they are after because they are still evaluating. Not getting Gilman will end up biting in the rear at some point, but they had their reasons for choosing Clark over him.

Iowa has stopped recruiting Willie Miklus also or at least haven't talked to him since Fargo.

I really do not know exactly why they are reluctant to open CHA, I am sure they have valid reasons. I have inquired about using the CHA facilities to host wrestling events and haven't had any luck.

Unless admin changes their tune Iowa will not be hosting the finals either. For whatever reason they do not want to open up CHA. It is driving the coaching staff nuts.

There is no interest right now, and only the Iowa coaches would know their reasoning. There definitely has been quite a few people in the Iowa coaches ears about him.

Gilman is considered instate as they live in CB. Thomas has not heard from Iowa since Fargo and the assumption is that there is no interest there, so he is moving on. I expect to see him at Nebraska, but there has been heavy interest from OSU, ISU and Mizzou.

I think the chances of Iowa getting the other three is pretty good, but as more time passes I believe the chances of getting all three go down.

We are starting to see the lack of kids involvement in USA Wrestling in Iowa effect our results in the Cadet and Junior divisions. We will always be competitive in Cadet and Juniors, but we are non existent in the Schoolboy division.

This is a very true statement, the guy goes above what many HS coaches in the nation do for not only his wrestlers, but others. I've always been in the court if all coaches would put half as much time a guy like Reiland does you wouldn't have as many transfers.
