    Predict 2025 (Spring Version)

Aren't we leaving out a very important piece on the DL? Don't we believe Little Eppy is going to factor into the mix? His brother was a playmaker as a true frosh. DE could be a strength.

    Predict 2025 (Spring Version)

The interior seemed a bit undersized if I remember the depth chart. But, Iowa has done well with DT that are undersized.

    Predict 2025 (Spring Version)

Parker's philosophy has ebbed and flowed depending upon the talent he has and how good or bad the offense was. The last few years, the offense has been so bad that Parker played very conservatively and hoped that the other side would F up at a crucial moment. Try to win the game 14 to 13. Our...

    Spring practice

Thanks for the observations. I am most interested in the scheme and philosophy of the offense. Spring Games are always vanilla, but I like to hear that the QBs were pushing the ball down the field. Even with attrition and injury, this is a deep QB room.

    Predict 2025 (Spring Version)

This is a solid analysis. The middle of the defense makes me nervous too. I don't think it is much of a hot take to say that the offense will be improved over last year and the defense will regress. Both, for the most part, have no other direction to go. The season will come down to how much...

    Jaidyn Coon

Oh, he can play. He has a lot of D1 offers. ISU and Creighton among others. This would be a good get and I like our chances.

    QB room

What I see is a competent OC who is not taking any chances on the most important position on the field. The Deacon Hill days are over. This is the best QB room in the KF era. Experience and developmental guys.

    Tennessee QB Controversy

I have to make quarterly payments to the IRS and usually budget closer to 35%. It would be worse in high tax states like California. However, it gets even more complicated. I know pro athletes have to pay state taxes in every state that they play in. So, if you are a Chief and play one game...

I think this is where I land as well. With the new team, we upgraded at PG and probably the 4. Sanford and the kid from K State are probably an even swap. But, Dix is the best wing player of the bunch and Freeman is the best Center. So, an argument can be made that the talent is fairly...

I guess its how you define the portal. We were the loser in that we lost an entire existing team, that had talent, to the portal. We were the winner in the sense that the new coach replaced the losses with a very good nucleus of players and Iowa has the chance to be formidable next season...

    Tennessee QB Controversy

Love it. To ESPN: "Oh, we had the money all along. We have money to burn at Tennessee. We just didn't like the douschy way he asked for it."

    Tennessee QB Controversy

I get paid by the hour, so I will keep this short. :) They are not employees, but employment status does not define income. I am a partner/owner of my law firm, so I am not employee, but the money I get from my law firm is still income. I am guessing that most NIL money is reported as W-9...

When KF hangs them up, he would be on my short list of HC candidates to interview.

Laughing at how many millions he stole from Iowa and Evansville.

    SHOW ME THE MONEY..........

Right now we are in the middle what is probably the golden years of college athletes getting paid. This is like before they had a rookie wage scale in the NFL, and first round picks were getting 30 million dollar signing bonuses. Eventually, they will get a cap in place somehow, and it won't...

    Pat Fitz

This is not a serious take. The guy sent his kid to Iowa as a walk-on. He and KF get along very well. Fitz always said that when he took over the NW job, Iowa was the school that he wanted to beat because Iowa was a consistent winner and the program he was trying to get NW to be.

    Pat Fitz

He's only 50 years old. He was an excellent coach during his time at NW. The hazing allegations, while disgusting, did not implicate him directly. In fact, they specifically found he did not know about the hazing, but was fired as the captain of the ship. I would not think that would make...

Not Much Noise About Traore or Tadjo

Traore would be a good depth guy and is probably about as good as Ben can find on the open market right now as at a very cheap price point. We need at least one more post player, probably two.

Connor was the best leader Fran ever had and you want guys like that with the ball in their hands in the clutch. That said, Connor's greatest gift was feeding Garza and he did that from the wing better than any college player I have seen in the modern era. Feeding the post is a lost art in...

I thought Marble was the best PG of the FM era. I also thought Josh Dix was a very effective PG and that might have even been his best position. As my coach used to say, you cannot coach a kid to be taller.
