MN wouldn't have to lose to Purdue as long as Purdue also doesn't beat Michigan. Pretty sure we win three-way tie with MN & IL (2-1 record vs. 2-2 and 1-2). If Purdue get to 9-9, and it is a 4-way, I don't know what happens.
